    Hey everyone,

So made a thread earlier in 2020 when lockdown started happening trying to get ideas for good games to play via Vorpx during the last year and wanted to make a new recommendation thread, if anyone was interested in posting their best Vorpx experiences.

My last thread I mentioned my favorite, before 2020, being modded 1st person Sekiro, 1st person Dark Souls 3, 1st Person Mass Effect Andromeda

So I didnt get to do as much Vorpx gaming in 2020 as I would have liked, but I would like to point out some great experiences I had in Vorpx in 2020

    So for new recommendations:

Resident Evil 7 – even with Z-Adaptive, not Geo3d. There were some issues with gun ghosting and shadows in Geo 3d for me, but Z-Adaptive didnt have those at all.

Seriously – if you were kinda bored with RE, I was too, but… this game is just a goddamn treasure and should be experienced by -ANYONE- with Vorpx. You can find it for like 8 bucks on Keys sites.

Metro Exodus was pretty fantastic as well, was happy with the direction that game took with the open world FPS design and surprised me with how well it ran in Vorpx.

Titanfall 2 – Ran incredibly smooth and just a great campaign in VR

On a more difficult recommendation, got Dark souls 2 to work in 1st person VR with Cheat Engine. That was a fun one, you could find the instructions online if you wanted to – but Id Recommend Sekiro or Dark Souls 3 before it, much easier to get up and running.

So anyone have any games they thought were particularly good to experience they want to point out in the last few months/year?

Thanks for your time and take care

You can rebind all vorpX hotkeys in the config app on the ‘In-Game Key Bindings’ page.

On a sidenote: VR controller bindings can be easily switched from right to left handed without having to rebind everything manually.

That sounds profoundly weird. I don’t really know what might go on there, but as a workaround you should be able to use the ingame menu either with cursor keys + enter or a gamepad.

Hello all! I’m about two weeks into my VR experience (Oculus Rift S) and it is absolutely amazing so far. I am LOVING all the immersion I’m seeing with this wonderful piece of hardware on my face. It’s great.

Recently I discovered the software that allows us to unlock VR potential for potentially hundreds more games; it’s the one we’re all here for! :) I’m pretty sure I’m gonna get it very soon; if it can at least unlock stereo 3D (looking mostly straight ahead with full or mostly-full 3D depth) for some of the great games I play in desktop mode, then it may well pay for itself already in my estimation.

Question. I saw a video of someone playing Mirror’s Edge in VR using VorpX. They would continually use the Delete key (I’m assuming the key below Insert and above the arrow keys towards the right of the keyboard, not the numeric one) to access the main in-game Menu. Is there a way to bind the Menu to something different? I would be able to take Ctrl+Alt+V if that’s possible.

The thing is, since I am left-handed, that Delete key is my primary use/interact key for all of my 3D games that I play on my mouse/keyboard, and it would potentially be problematic if the Menu key were not re-bindable from Delete. (I’ve more or less memorized the locations of keys by feel, such that I don’t have to look at them while playing or typing, as I’m sure all gamers have to do.)

Thank you for your assistance; if this is answered in the positive, I’m pretty sure buying VorpX is a lock for me this coming month.

Take care, and enjoy your VR’ing!

PS. AHHH just realized since the forum is powered by WordPress, it pulled my profile picture! That was weird to see at first. Well, hello there! I do do some blogging occasionally, and I need to once in a while; it’s been years! Heh.

I have resent your key to the mail address that you used to register vorpX originally. Makes sense to save the installer as well as the key e-mail somewhere, the keys stays valid unless you make changes to your PC.

Even without visual glitches and tech reasons sometimes you just convince yourself game has depth if you believe enough I even noticed myself sometimes accidentally pressing hotkeys switching z3d off and only noticing after some time.

There are several latest amnesia profiles claiming 3d too while there is none because people are convinced it has depth.

Even z3d when it works is obvious, you dont have to put any effort to see if there is depth, there just is.

Sorry to bother you Ralf, but I thought I should report this. I have a mouse with two buttons on the left side; as it’s usually the case, the default functions for those buttons are ‘forward’ and ‘backward’ respectively to quickly switch between folders or webpages in history. I had the edge peek hotkey set to the backward key on the mouse in order to access it instantly and not take up a key or combination on the keyboard, but apparently the newer versions don’t trigger it with said key. When setting the backward key in the VorpX configuration app it shows up as Mouse X2 in case you need another reference. Happy holidays by the way.

if you click vorpx tray icon there is an option to check and sett vorpx hotkeys, green fps counter default keys are alt+f which is odd because you claim it switches on from alt+tab.

Hi, I don’t know if you can reproduce this, but I seem to have an issue that popped up at around the same time as the new VorpX updates. Whenever I have VorpX attached to a game and I tab out of it then in again, the ALT key behaves as if it was being held down, preventing access to the VorpX menu and unintentionally activating hotkeys, this is worked around by pressing ALT again once inside the game.

@ ttanaka: The latest vorpX 21.1.0.3 comes with it automatically.

@ mossfoot: you can deal with your issue by using the menu with either cursor keys + enter, a gamepad or VR controllers.

If using the menu with the mouse doesn’t work for some reason, you can either use it with cursor keys + enter, your gamepad or VR controllers.

Not a direct solution, but you can also use the menu with cursor keys + enter or a gamepad/VR controller, which should work without multi monitor cursor hassles.

Unfortunately RDR2 uses the same shaders that are used for displaying keys and some other text also elsewhwere. If memory serves right the final image is drawn to the screen using the same shader, so defining it as HUD also would scale down the whole image. Not 100% sure anymore if it was exactly that, but definitely something like it. In the end I was happy to have the actual HUD and menu working without unwanted side effects.

Cool, I’m really hoping for a vorpX profile though. Odyssey is one of my most played games. Hopefully once Cyberpunk gets sorted, Valhalla can get another stab.

In the meantime I’m playing more RDR2, with the most recent profile. It’s great that now the Hud can be scaled for fullvr, but somehow the context keys display Hud is not scaled. Perhaps a quick fix to assign these additional shader layers is possible. It is the only Hud element I actually need :)

It seems that the random crashing issues at 2 – 5 minutes of play are AMD related. Here’s an rx 6800 and I always fry them. It doesn’t matter what graphic configuration you have. At 5 minutes maximum, crash !.
    My settings:
    Ryzen 7 3700x
    RX 6800
    32gb ram
Asus Rog Strix x570-f Gaming motherboard

I would also like to know how to solve the problem of the icons of the keys that flash between keyboard and xbox controller. I want them to be kept for xbox, but it seems as if I pressed some key and they are shown for keyboard and mouse
