Hey just got Vorpx and ive been enjoying it a lot, not sure what all the negative fuzz is about. Is there a way to have snap turning? Maybe bind it to arrowkeys so I don’t even have to use mouse and less motion sickness.

    Maybe here? : https://www.g2a.com/es-es/dear-esther-steam-key-global-i10000043429002

I don’t like g2a much but it’s one of the few places to get steam keys for unavailable games.

Oh wow. I didn’t see your reply until now. How do I check that it’s the original version and not the 2012 Landmark edition? Either way, thanks for this!

Thanks, Ralf, for all the info.

But, can i change the distance to this “immersive screen”? If it’s too far away, i would lose resolution, and the immersion suffers, right?

And can the touch controllers really replace an XBox controller, when they have less keys?

Hey guys! Since i want to play vorpX supported games standing, i can’t use mouse & keyboard sadly.

I never touched a console controller yet – you can call me a controller virgin. :)

So what do you experienced guys recommend buying? Steam controller? XBOne controller? I want to be able to use many keys (for RPG games) and at the same time it should work for old games too.

The PS4 controller with the nice trackpad seems out of the question, because of compatibility issues.

As I’ve been using VorpX, I’ve really enjoyed using the Oculus Touch controllers and have come to realize how useful the Mode Shift button is for being able to bind a lot of keys to the controllers. I started wondering if it would be possible to add more mode shifts based on the controller’s location in 3D space?

If you held your controller down at your right waist, you could have one set of mappings and another set when you hold the controller over your right shoulder. If you had left and right waist and left and right shoulder regions, you could mimic the weapon swapping behavior of RoboRecall in just about any FPS by mapping the trigger to the number key that switches to the different weapons in each region.

If you had a region that was out in front of your body, you could bind the trigger to the “interact” key in most games so you could actually reach forward to open doors and push buttons. While it obviously wouldn’t be as accurate as the motion controls of a native VR game, I think it could increase immersion in a lot of games.

In games like Fallout, you could assign the trigger to holster your weapon when your hand is at your right waist and bring up the pipboy on your left waist, for instance.

I don’t know if VorpX even has the controller location data to do something like this, but I just thought I’d mention it.

There would be an issue with head tracking if you disable the gamepad emulation I mentioned above.

In case you already changed any settings in the vorpX menu please reset the profile to its default values in the config app (‘Trouble Shooting’ page) or even do a full factory reset.

With default gamepad emulation settings vorpX emulates emulates WASD keys with the left stick while the right stick emulates the mouse.

Also reset the RE7 input settings to default if you made changes there.

Some games disable the mouse when a gamepad is used, which in turn disables head tracking in vorpX in many cases if vorpX needs the mouse to apply head tracking. The gamepad emulation is freely configurable.

You can find the according settings in the vorpX menu (‘Input Settings’ page > Override X-Box Gamepad). There you can also remap keys.

IMPORTANT: If ‘Override X-Box Gamepad’ is set to anything else than ‘None’ per default, you will usually break head tracking by changing this option.

Just wondering for those of you who play any MMORPG’s in 3D with Vorpx, don’t you find it really hard to control your character skills efficiently when you can’t see the keyboard? Seems to me like it would wind up being a major hassle unless you had an MMO mouse. I haven’t tried any MMO’s yet but I’m about to check out WOW, luckily I have a Razer Naga Trinity so I can customize the buttons as well as use a totally different programmable button layout for MMO’s, MOBA’s or FPS etc..

So there’s a suggestion as well if any of you struggle with the controls trying to play MMORPG’s through Vorpx or have been hesitant to do so for this reason. Get your self an MMO mouse and you’ll be fixed right up for playing your favorite MMORPG in 3D without having to look at the keyboard. You can feel your way around to the ctrl, alt & shift keys easily enough for your alternate settings and anything else you can map to your mouse buttons or should be accessible by clicking the on screen menu’s instead of using keyboard shortcuts.

I’d recommend the Naga or Naga trinity mainly because the buttons are all set at different angles so you once you get used to the feel of them under your thumb, you have a better sense of what button you’re touching by feel. As far a I know only the Razer Naga and the Logitech G600 have buttons like that.

Thanks, I’m testing and Z3D works for me correctly.

Additionally,I testing FULLVR Mode out of curiosity, and it feels very good.
I’m testing with my Oculus CV1 in 1600×1280 resolution (original aspect ratio 5:4 for Rift CV1 and game window mode/directx 11)

I checked the following parameters in Vorpx and user.cfg files.
    Vorpx internal menu:
    FullVR Mode ON
    Zoom 95 aprox

    user.cfg file:
    r_res_hor 1600
    r_res_vert 1280
    r_dx11_tess 1
    r_api 2
    r_fullscreen off
    r_base_fov 90
    r_blur_level 0
    r_game_mblur_scale 0
    r_taa_enabled 0
    r_ssaa_auto 0.
    r_exposure_hdr 0.

    Issues:
Blood overlay (when getting damaged) doesn’t scale with FOV
    HUD no scalable

    Positive:
In general terms I am looking like a tremendous and immersive game, and I think it deserves a complete revision through a small update by the master of keys (Ralf) to activate G3D, HUD scale, and directVR some functions.
    I love this game.

I have a mod installed that let me use xbox 360 controller and keyboard simultaniously in Syrim SE. It works perfect. It used to work with vorpx like three updates before the current version.
If now run vorpy and skyrim… i cant swith to first person mode, most of the xbox keys wont respond somtimes . And most i cant switch to the voprx ingame menu anymore after altered the config. What i did so far.
I opend the voprx ingame menu and set controller to hide.
this results in no button working.
    I switched to partial
this results in the game turning constantly 360 degrees
    I set to full
    this results weired button config.
So how can i get rid of that vorpx mapping .. i want to use the xbox controller and keyboard as in earlier updates

I’ve been experimenting more with the Exodus Z3D profile and have made some improvements to 3D and FOV. By upping the ini fov to max 90 and zooming the cinema to fullscreen, it is now closer to a fullVR experience. You even get several degrees of side to side simulated freelook.

Profile updated: Metro Exodus Z3D (Rift)

    -ini edits in: C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\metro exodus\e1d….\user.cfg
    set r_base_fov 90.
    r_fullscreen off
(This game runs better in windowed mode)

-use widescreen 16:9 resolution for better freelook
(3840×2160 or higher is good, I’m using 4992×2808 and pleased how it looks)

    Additional tips:
*use AutoHotKey script for remapping locked keys.
x::h (moves my holster weapon button easier to reach)
*for borderless window use Borderless Gaming tool as seen here at 2:22:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0328uIQP4gA

*if you don’t care about side to side freelook and want better HUD visibility, use a square resolution (2400×2400)
*disable motion blur if you like in user.cfg:
    r_blur_level 0
    r_game_mblur_scale 0

Also thanks to Nathie for spreading the love.

    HI again,
Ok I went through every setting in the advanced vorpx and couldn’t see anything that changes the grip controllers function on the vive.
Have I missed something that does change the function of the grip controllers ? Or are they preset and unchangeable ?

Anyway, for now I have remapped the key for the hotkeys to holding the left grip, and pressing both triggers at same time. This is working fine, but I would rather just hold both grips as its easier!

    Hi,
I only purchased VorpX a few hours ago.
Got it working on ESO presently, and trying to figure out how to get the VR Hotkeys to show up, just using the Vive controllers.
I see it says press SHIFT + MiddleMouse, and from the profile I have for ESO, it has the Vive left grip setup for SHIFT, and the Vive right grip setup for MiddleMouse, But when I press both together, all I get up is the VorpX menu, and not the VR Hotkeys.

Any ideas on what am doing wrong please ?

Updated to add a new feature. Enter key pauses the script for 5 seconds so you can use the number keys in chat more easily. Feel free to adjust the code to make it longer or shorter at the location in the script.

    ====================================================================

    As the title says.

The intent of this app is for the use of FPS mode, which you can activate normally in the game’s options. When you run this app along side the game, you play in FPS, until you do combat, where the game will zoom out, and after combat, zoom back in.

This app also supports free camera mode, where you don’t need to hold down the right mouse button to move the camera. It works where you hold down the right mouse button for one second, and then it registers that you wish to free camera mode. Clicking the right mouse button again will free you from this mode. Free camera mode will deactivate while in combat, allowing you to use ground select skills. It will however not reactivate after combat, unless you are holding down the right mouse button, or you toggle on auto free camera mode on battle exit. The numpad minus key will toggle this auto mode on/off. Keep in mind that some classes or skill sets may or may not benefit from auto mode.

This app is very useful for virtual reality Guild Wars 2. You will need to have installed vorpX to play Guild Wars 2 in VR. Or alternatively you may want to try Virtual Desktop on Steam, and setup the display to become a wall sized television, to the desired effect. Remember while playing this game with virtual reality, for best effect, set in the options of the game the Field of View to maximum, the slider all the way to the right. This is needed for the best experience in VR.

If you are looking to get Stereoscopics working with your VR experience, you can use TriDef 3D with Guild Wars 2. This will change your gaming experience! Or alternatively, TriDef has now released TriDef VR. Just keep in mind that TriDef VR is using a subscription based model, whereas TriDef 3D is pay once per computer. I personally use Virtual Desktop on Steam, in combination with TriDef 3D. Pay once, or pay on sub. Check out both options before you buy anything. Your choice!

    Features:
    * Zoom out for combat, FPS in non-combat.
    * Can use the regular zoom feature of the mouse wheel at anytime.
    * Free camera mode available to use. No need to hold down right mouse click.
    * Added support for vorpX virtual reality. Zoom in and out of the VR experience. Must press the numpad plus key at the start of your VR experience to calibrate screen. Calibration will allow you to more easily see the skill icons, boons, etc… This feature was designed to be run at 1080p. Press numpad plus for use. VorpX also has their own type of zoom feature as well. To use the vorpX zoom feature, press the scroll click on your mouse for effect. Both zooms work in a different way.
    * The wait time before re-entry into FPS is variable, depending on the amount of attack commands you use. There is a limit to how far extended the timer can go to. This feature should help with big battle scenes and boss fights.
    * The option available to choose if the free camera mode auto enables after combat. This can be toggled with the numpad minus key. You also can choose to default set it in the script itself.
    * The script has an easy to change variable on how far you want to zoom out when in combat mode. This setting can be changed at the top of the script. Default is 20. TriDef 3D users are suggested to use 3 as their setting.
    * This app now supports the new mounts. The default key to summon your mount is X. When you get on and off, the script will assist you accordingly.
    * [NEW] If you press enter, the app will pause for 5 seconds to allow you to use numbers in chat. Feel free to adjust the timer in the script.

    Key Commands:
    * Insert + Delete = Closes application FPS Scenery Mode
    * Numpad plus = Calibration Zoom
    * Numpad minus = Toggles the Free Camera Auto on Exit Battle

You will notice that I include the time it was last updated in the code. Please check this against your current version.

Say hello to some mediocre code that runs as advertised.
    You will need AutoIt3
