I plan on testing it more this evening if I can find the time. I leave FPSVR off most of the time as I like to keep as few possible failure-points as possible, but it’s cake to toggle it on and test in a few titles that properly support switching displays in-game. That should tell us if the issue is most likely Cyberpunk or PiTool.

(P.S. I still wanna know how to uninstall the little piece of vorpX that changes the driving and riding cameras in Cyberpunk. Just not necessary for the way I play the title, so I prefer the default cameras. If/when you have time to let me know. Not a terribly pressing issue.)

(ARGH: Edit time has expired already! Please feel free to combine with my prior post!)

I forgot to ask one question: I’m playing Cyberpunk in cinema mode and made the mistake of allowing vorpX to install the little helper for Cyberpunk when the vorpX beta requested doing so. Could you please tell me what files I need to remove to uninstall that? I would like to revert to normal driving and riding cameras. Also, is there any way to disable that warning from popping up every time once I remove the additional package? Thank you!

Does your patch keep a backup of all files it replaces in the Cyberpunk install folder, and can it replace all files with ORIGINAL files when it is uninstalled?

Reason I ask is I uninstalled the mod, then in Epic Games I did a “Repair” on Cyberpunk game, and this caused it to re-download the entire 65GB of the game – not sure why but that is horribly inefficient way for it to do a repair – it should only have to replace a few small individual files which fail to match what it thinks should be there (using CRC checks). Very poor programming from them or Epic.

And… not going to reinstall your VR patch unless it can revert Cyberpunk to exact way it was before patch when I want to remove it.

    Try to uninstall/reinstall the mod.

If that doesn’t help: uninstall both the mod and Cyberpunk, delete your Cyberpunk folder, reinstall both.

I just tried running latest Cyberpunk on Pico 4 over Virtual Desktop and I also can’t get the full 3D mode working – it only displays as flat screen in VR headset. I can see the VORPX menu and did change back and forth from the Cinema mode to the VR mode.

Also since it is not working is there some way of just running standard monitor mode Cyberpunk i.e disable VORPX completely or do I have to uninstall it somehow? Is it even possible to uninstall itself cleanly from the Cyberpunk install? I would prefer not to have to uninstall, but some disable method.

EDIT: Actually I see there is a new Cyberengine tweak for Game version 1.61 DLSS – not sure how to install/update it though

Hi Ralf or anyone else, does no one have any suggestions of anything I could possibly do to try and narrow down what the cause of this might be? I have just updated to the latest beta release of VorpX (I did a full uninstall and reinstall), which may have improved things very marginally, but nowhere near the point of it being playable. Displayed frame rate in Cyberpunk 2077 is now around 30 for the game and around 70 – 80 for the headset, but the same problem persists that the actual update rate from turning the headset appears below 1 fps. Note that the game was started from within the virtual desktop with my main monitor turned off. Turning the 3D mode to Z3D or to Off has no noticeable impact and changing the game graphics settings between low and ultra also has very little impact.
In case it helps to isolate the problem, the poor performance is present to some extent even in the main menu of the game before a level is loaded.

I have uninstalled VorpX and downloaded the standalone CyberpunkVR mod. But for some reason it doesnt seem to hook the game. I have reinstalled a couple of times but no succes. I have tried all headset types in config.

Overall great mod, thank you for making it. But I have this same issue as peaches and it’s causing a lot of problems. I am using Quest 2 controllers through Link (which I saw from some posts is Ralf’s setup). Setting the controls to gamepad works in the Vorpx launch tutorial, all of the gestures work, but then the game does not recognize any anything I do on the Quest 2 controllers. Even the mouse doesn’t move when I push the joysticks.

If I switch the controls to keyboard and mouse in the Vorpx settings, then the game recognizes everything. But that actually creates its own problems. Most of the gestures still work in K/M mode, but the flick gesture does not reload and it’s impossible to throw grenades. Unfortunate, but I can work around that with key bindings.

The bigger problem is that it is impossible to bind all of the necessary controls onto the controllers because for some inexplicable reason Vorpx does not allow me to bind about half of buttons on the keyboard. You can hit them a million times and they just won’t register in the Vorpx key binding process. For example, G comes bound to the right shift trigger by default. But G is one of the many keys that cannot be bound for some reason. So if you bind something else to that trigger and override the G key binding that it starts with, there is no way to get that G back. After some trial and error, I kept the G where it started and then rebound G to something useful in the Cyberpunk key bindings. But it still wasn’t enough because there are a LOT of keys like G that are impossible to bind to the controller in Vorx, except they were never bound in the first place.

Then a bunch of the keys that are available to be bound to the controller in Vorpx (e.g., left/right ctrl, alts) just won’t do what they are bound to do in the Cyberpunk settings. I spent hours and hours trying every configuration to make it work, but I just barely ran out of available keys that Vorpx allows to be bound to the controller. And one of the most important key bindings is Z, which does multiple necessary things, including changing the current objective on the minimap. Of course, Vorpx does not allow Z to be bound to the controller. I tried reassigning the Z functions to other key bindings that were actually available, but none of those alternate bindings will toggle the current goal; it will always be Z, even if nothing is assigned to Z in the Cyberpunk key bindings.

In short, the keyboard and mouse mode in its current state is not really playable with Quest 2 controllers except if you are sitting in front of a keyboard. And I play standing, away from the keyboard, and strapped into a Kat Walk C treadmill. So I think I have no choice but to use gamepad mode instead of keyboard and mouse. But the problem is that I have tried everything I can think of (including uninstalling and reinstalling the Oculus program on my PC), and I still cannot get Cyberpunk to recognize any controller inputs when I set the Vorpx settings to gamepad mode.

I’m dying to jump into this mod because I have a new 4090 and the game looks stunning in max settings and psycho ray tracing, but I won’t play the game sitting down in front of a keyboard the entire time. Would appreciate any insight people may have about how to solve this controller problem. Thanks.

Hello. I have just bought Cyberpunk after a long wait (I was waiting for it to become more complete and I think it is now) and I just tried to make it work with this VR mod.

I have followed every step to install it BUT when I launched it via steam, or Oculus home, or directly with the exe in the bin folder, it just didn’t hook : The game still start in pancake mode, on my screen, no VR.
I have no mods installed, No nexus, alredady uninstall/ reinstall everything, deleted d3d12on7 folder and de dll inside it, replace the CET folder with the latest,… EVERYTHING, but it still doesn’t hook, NO VR.

Can somebody please help me? I am surely missing something but I don’t know what…

Hi all, new here. Just installed cyeberpunkVR stand alone. Game and instruction page load with two screens one right and one left. I can open the settings overlay and make changes, but the 2 screen presentation persists, even
background environment images. I’m on a Index on steam. I previously ran cyberpunk with the Luke Ross mod and it worked (JUST) ok. Is it possible for some left over files from that install to be in conflict with Vorpx. Should I try the full Vorpx app?
PS. I did a uninstall/reinstall of cyberpunk before trying Vorpx.
Thanks for such a remarkable tool.

Okay so I tried the ‘Other Mod’ and this is my fair conclusion: It runs smooth and has a fairly large start-up resolution. I uninstalled it quick.
The Vorpx version will remain my PERMANENT cyberpunk 2077 vr mod. After using the gesture controllers and the tweaking options you get with the mod, the xbox controller method is too restricting (to me). I tried it out to see what the fanfare was about. Don’t get me wrong, he did a good & commendable job. It just sacrifices a certain ‘fluidity’ if you know what I mean.
I ALWAYS inform people of Ralf’s version and they come out shocked mostly because there’s NO publicity for this groundbreaking achievement.
Is the Vorpx version perfect? No it’s not but it’s the closest we get to a full blown VR experience of Night city and all it contains. The mod is so cool that I LITERALLY have my arm ache because I physically have to wield my Katana :) and it’s FREE!!!
Kinda hurts that the VR sector would be this biased.
Kudos again to you guys at Vorpx and trust that your efforts will be PROPERLY acknowledged once it’s time.
PS. I’m not just some drooling fanboy, I’m currently building my own Open-World VR experience, so I kinda have an idea of how to appreciate a good VR mod.

100% certain, and nothing is being pirated. The only thing I haven’t tried is a complete uninstall of Cyberpunk, but based on others’ experiences it doesn’t seem like that would help.

Thanks Ralf and Demuse for the replies. I tried everything again and still have the same problems. Uninstalled the standalone Cyberpunk vorpx mod, manually removed the four CET files. Verified game files and restarted/reinstalled. The only change is the game launches more reliably now, but once in game it’s the same resolution issues and HUD elements so far in the corners they are useless as well as the missing chat option problem. This wouldn’t be half as frustrating if everything didn’t work perfectly fine three days ago. Anyway it was a complete blast while it worked!

Hello, first wanted to say thank you Ralf for creating such an incredible mod! Cyberpunk in VR is a dream come true and easily one of the most amazing gaming experiences of my life.

Unfortunately a couple days ago vorpx and Cyberpunk starting acting up and after several hours of trouble shooting I’m still at a loss. The main problems are Cyberpunk crashes very frequently now on startup (hit play, nothing happens, or game crashes). After restarts and many attempts, if I am able to launch the game then it always starts in 1024×768 resolution, and the HUD has moved far into the corners and can’t be seen anymore. Before this HUD problem I could see the map in the top right corner, now it is barely visible and can only be seen seen in edge peak mode.

In addition, I also noticed other new problems such as chat options in conversations showing up as blank (you can only read the options if you select over them).

I have tried uninstalling vorpx, reinstalling, verifying game files for Cyberpunk, etc. Also checked drivers, tried deleting the game cache files. It’s all quite frustrating because two days ago the game was running just wonderfully and as far as I know I haven’t changed anything on my system. My computer is running Core i7 10700KF, RTX 3080, 32gb ram, with valve index.

Has anyone else run into these problems out of nowhere and been able to fix them? Any help is greatly appreciated as I was just getting back into this game. Thank you for your time.

I just want to uninstall the mod, not the whole game. It takes hours to reinstall the game now with 37gigs of additional update.

I didn’t say anything about uninstalling the entire game. The VorpX mod has a separate uninstall option in Programs and Features (Legacy Control Panel) or Apps and Features (search start). It says CyberpunkVR powered by VorpX. To install the LR mod, the files must be placed in the Bin folder first. You have to remove the Luke Ross mod files manually. There’s no uninstaller for that version. Install the VorpX mod again, and then uninstall as described if it’s still causing conflicts.
