Can somebody tell me how to uninstall the original Cyberpunk VR Mod? IM looking everywhere and I cannot find how to uninstall the mod. Please help! Everytime I try to load the game vorpx keeps popping up even though I’ve tried to disable it!

I think the new hot-fix update that just released may have broken VR functionality…

I’ve got this new PC and had been playing fine for about a day, this new update hits, I load up Cyberpunk and edgepeek doesn’t work and its 2D (and for some reason looked way worse graphically) so anyone else experience this? Or am I an outlier here…

I’ve currently uninstalled and am re-installing through steam (not sure if there was a way to roll back versions..) hoping that the fresh install won’t have the hotfix embedded into it? then I can switch off auto-updates before it auto-updates.. I’m getting desperate, I’ve had a taste and I need more!

I tried running the game outside of steam & everything’s intact after watching this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UdzSNJeZik

Since nothing I tried worked, I uninstalled the standalone client, uninstalled Cyberpunk, deleted the directory completely, reinstalled Cyberpunk, and then reinstalled the standalone client. It still does the same thing. I will try to run in with Oculus home and my Quest2 tomorrow and see if that works. I have given up hope of getting it to work with my Pimax.

You mentioned that overlays can effect it. Does that include Pitool? It used to work with it, but now it doesn’t. Unfortunately Pitool is required for the pimax to work, so I don’t know what else I can do.

I am trying to completely uninstall the cyberpunk vorpx stand alone. The one that came out just before the motion controls update. I ran the uninstaller, but I still have many files the vorpx files in the folder. And when I run cyberpunk, the vorpx mod is active and working. How do I remove all the files completely? Im wanting to try to install the luke ross mod. Also when I installed the vorpx standalone, i installed it in the cyberpunk folder just after the steam common folder. But im finding vorpx files in the the cyberpunk Bin folder, after i ran the uninstall program. Thanks

General hint first: some of your remarks/questions are covered in the tutorial slides when you launch the game with the mod installed.

    To answer them individually:

While aiming down sights you can already aim with your hands.

You can change controller mapping and gestures to left handed on the motion controller page of the menu.

You can recenter the view any time from the menu.

All gamepad buttons for the functions you are missing are available via a second mapping set. Hold the left grip button to switch. The controllers have an interactive overlay that shows the current mapping.

You can install vorpX where you want already. Like most installers the vorpX installer lets you choose an install folder. The standalone Cyberpunk mod has to be installed in the Cyberpunk folder though.

Uninstalling (both regular vorpX and mod) is super easy via the normal Windows ‘Add/Remove Programs’ dialog.

I decided to boot up cyberpunk (pancake) today to check out the 1.5 updates and realized I still had the vorpx standalone mod installed (It started in VR mode). So I quit and found the uninstall file, and removed it. Cyberpunk would not start now (nothing happens after pressing the “play” button). So next I tried to verify the files in steam, which said one file needed to be fixed and it seemed to have done so. So I tried again after a reboot. Same problem. Ok, this sucks but I went ahead and entirely removed the install, rebooted and reinstalled from scratch waiting for several hours. Went to start cyberpunk again and… same problem.

Short version: After removing the standalone vorpx mode and reinstalling from scratch, cyberpunk no longer starts. Hoping someone has experienced this and knows a solution.

Hi, I’ve gone to the update thread but I’m not sure I fully understand a few things.
    a. I own VorpX, do I need to run it at all after installing the mod? Or is it completely standalone?
    b. Does the installer tweak video settings? Is there a backup of my settings like there is with the regular vorpx? If not, what settings should I targer.
    c. Do I need to uninstall the mod to play Cyberpunk in 2d again?

Thanks for the clarification. If I missed a page that explains all of this, apologies and please point me to it.

That sounds as if something is severely off. You shouldn’t really have to tinker with the settings in the menu aside from changing the resolution for performance/quality tweaking. Leave all other settings alone. Head tracking should work out of the box.

If you happen to have other mods installed, remove them. Mods that affect the game camera in any way may break head tracking with the VR mod.

Best uninstall the VR mod, then (if necessary) remove all other mods and afterwards reinstall the VR mod.

The version number shown in the game window should be alpha 6b

    @ drowhunter:

I’m not much of a fan of the floating HUD approach myself TBH, always find that severely annoying if some native VR game does that. But I’ll tinker a bit with a rubberband approach where the HUD follows your head with some inertia. No promises, but that sounds as if it could be kind of nice and would elegantly solve any issues with glancing into corners.

That aside: I have played so many hours of Cyberpunk myself that I wonder what exactly you can’t see by glancing into the corners. Sure, stuff in the edges is somewhat blurry, but no matter what headset I use, getting information I quickly need like the health status or where I am on the minimap is no problem at all by glncing into corners. And for the (very) few times where a closer look is required, there is indeed EdgePeek.

That said, the rubberband approach still sounds worth a shot. Best of both worlds.

    Bit of a weird one:

The standalone mod (latest version for 1.5 hotfix) works beautifully and smoothly when I install it, except for the fact that Vorpx still needs to adjust resolution / FOV / whatever else it changes (according to the message on screen). So I restart… and the game locks up at the first CDPR logo after the first title, with the Vorpx “beach and sky” backdrop still visible, before it can go fullscreen. I then need to kill it with the Task Manager.

After that, the only way to make the game playable again is to uninstall the mod. I thought maybe Vorpx was making a change to the configuration that causes the game to immediately lock up, but once the mod is uninstalled, the game starts fine with all the changes (resolution, FOV) applied.

Playing on RTX 3080, Threadripper 1950X, Oculus Quest 1 via Air Link (but the same happens with or without any headset connected). Clean install, no mods whatsoever, no overlays, disabled real-time protection.

    Hi all.
Is the standalone Cyberpunk VR mod compatible with the main Vorpx installation? Do they clash in any way? Does the main/paid VorpX installation enhance the standalone mod in any way?

Secondly, is there a way to bypass the standalone mod to launch the game in normal mode without uninstalling the mod?

Duh. That’s a lot of questions.

vorpX can change settings for about 200 games, and yes, it creates backups which you can restore. They are also restored all at once when you uninstall vorpX or do a factory reset.

The resolution a game runs with is one of the things covered by auto settings. You basically choose a preset and then vorpX figures out an according resolution and aspect ratio, which may vary based on various factors, e.g. whether you play a game in cinema or FullVr mode.

Why does that require a game restart sometimes? vorpX usually changes the config files of games, but games only apply these changes when they read these config files, which happens on launch. Since some of these config changes (typically FOV and resolution) depend on factors vorpX can only know 100% for sure while a game is running, it’s safer to apply them from ‘inside’ the game instead of taking potentially wrong guesses.

If no restart is required (e.g. when the FOV is adjusted in realtime by the DirectVR memory scanner instead of with an .ini change), then, yes, vorpX is intelligent enough to know that.

Head rotation is usually bound to body rotation. There are exceptions though (e.g. GTA V, RDR 2, Cyberpunk, Arma III). These exceptions are fairly rare though.

Weapons: There is a feature that allows you to do that, but it’s only available for a fairly small number of games currently.

Re-authorization is required when you make significant changes to your PC, that’s not an issue though.

Ralf, thanks so much for your testing, I really appreciate your concern and effort! At my end, I did a clean re-install (detailed below), and confirmed I still crash. I totally understand that you can’t fix a bug you can’t reproduce, and mine crashes so often under this specific circumstance that there must be a problem at my end or everyone would be complaining. I’ll keep messing around and try to find the pattern.

I uninstalled the game and deleted every related folder (under /users//Appdata/, etc) to remove any trace of old mods. Then I reinstalled the game, and re-downloaded just the latest versions of CET and CyberpunkVR. With CET installed (intro movies disabled) I loaded up a save and ran around for 10 minutes, swapping my outfit several times with no crash. Then I added CyberpunkVR and ran it for the first time with default settings and it seemed good with no crashes in 10 minutes. Then I tweaked a few settings and restarted the game, opened the same save, swapped my outfit once and crashed immediately upon exiting the menu. Then I uninstalled CyberpunkVR and tried again (no other changes), and no crashes in 10 more minutes.

Observations that I’ll probe into: it seems related specifically to changing outfits. I can usually open and exit the game menu or map over and over without crashing, but when I go into Inventory and swap one piece of clothing, it usually crashes (but not always). And I feel like it’s related to graphics settings somehow, since the very first time I install the mod and leave all the default settings, I never crash, but as soon as I change the settings to my liking and restart, then I crash right away. Finally, I read online someone complaining that their framerate always drops for a while after exiting the inventory; they guessed “a memory leak?” — might be related to my problem. And I’ll try starting a new character in case it’s related to my existing saves somehow.

Please redownload the latest version of the mod, then uninstall the one you have currently installed and reinstall the latest version. Your rig is almost identical to my main dev machine, incidentally I even have the Reverb G2 connected currently. So everything should work fine normally.

If you happen to have other mods installed, please remove them and try with only the VR mod installed.

Just in case: make sure that Windows Mixed Reality is your OpenXR runtime. Unfortunately SteamVR also tries to make itself the system’s OpenXR runtime, but that is not what you want with a WMR headset. SteamVR should not run at all.

    @ mstmorse

Sounds more like some gamepad input issue. Please double and triple check that the game’s gamepad bindings are at default and the motion controllers are set to ‘Gamepad’ in the vorpX menu.

Also check whether you maybe have any tools installed that potentially interfere with gamepad input. E.g. Virtual Desktop might, not sure whether it actually does, but it might be a potential candidate.

    @ Raph129

Thanks! You’re welcome. Certain aspects of this mod like some gestures will also come to regular vorpX profiles soon. Also occasionally there will be games that get more attention than others, currently e.g. GTAV and RDR2 also already have game specific mod portions.

    @ Julio Alberto Hernandez

You need the latest verdion of the mod for Cyberpunk 1.5. Please redownload, uninstall the current version and then reinstall the newly downloaded one.

    @ Cybersiggi

Can’t replicate that here. Please redownload, uninstall the current version and then reinstall the newly downloaded one. Just in case there is some Cyber Engine Tweaks version conflict or something similar.
