KarlorParticipantOnly the earlier OpenGL games run in 3D right now. The wolfenstien titles you can get to run in 2D. It isn’t to bad actually but sadly 3D on them isn’t doable right now. I would love to play The new Wolfenstiens in 3D but we cant right now unfortunately.
KarlorParticipantIf your new then read all the pre set up info you can and the game guides Ralf set up. They will all have explained to you that you need to do a bit of set up to get games working. First things first is get your resolution in game set up right. A lot of people mess around with custom resolutions to tweak out some performance, don’t worry about that right now. Next get your in game FOV field of view set correctly(usually about 120 give or take). This can usually be done by vorpx handy set up tool or you can tweak inis yourself. Also most games have shit UI out of the box for VR. You can sometimes tweak this around with vorpx in game set up (DEL key). Also you can press middle mouse wheel and welcome all the glory that is vorpx edge peek.
KarlorParticipantNot sure if you can do this for this situation but try looking into setting up a proxy dll for the mod/hook program that your using that way both vorpx and the mod/hooking program can work together.
KarlorParticipantIt is, you should find option in the voprx in game menu (Del) You can set up how high and low you have to be to activate jump/crouch and what buttons to map them to to match the game. Haven’t used it a lot but its there and can be set up I’m pretty sure.
KarlorParticipantHow could you think its dead when you “check” here everyday and see that it’s in full ongoing development? Just kind of weird….
KarlorParticipantThere are a ton of different programs you can use to get a controller working. X padder is good but I prefer joy to key. It’s free and easier to use. There are a lot of threads about this very issue. Many games require you to set up and configure the buttons your self via a program like Xpadder or joy 2 key. Like Bethesda titles usually have to map keyboard and mouse to the controller as dual inputs wont work, or the games just don’t support controllers due to age. I’m working on Oblivion rite now and have a pretty good set up but still fine tuning it.
KarlorParticipantIm not sure if there is a way to see if vorpX is recognizing the controllers or not, other then them working while connected and in vorpx. I’m not positive but the only on that should work “automatically” would be the Xbox controller(not sure about the Xbox one specifically though). The MS controllers you could get to work but it would be via a system that basically tells the computer your using a keyboard and map the in game functions to corresponding keys and map them to said controller. Some games you have to do this as a controller and keyboard+mouse cant be used at the same time.
I would maybe mess with your Xbox one controller some more, check around and there may be better drivers available for it I just don’t know. Checking to see if it is recognized by windows as a Xbox controller and not just a human input device or plain joystick. I prefer the controller myself but some times it takes some work to get configured correctly.
KarlorParticipantBorus your just too bad ass I guess. Everyone I’ve had use my set up with Skyrim is blown away. It’s in the top 5 games for VR. Either you don’t have it set up well or again your just too damn cool. I think you should focus on getting it set up better because if you like Skyrim then VR is just over the top impressively sweet. I don’t know I just prefer AAA games that are actually games and not amateur hour tech demos that Oculus and Vive are hawking as full game currently.
KarlorParticipantNot trying to shit on your whole “press copy” but you know you could just BUY vorpx… just get each of your subs to give you .82 cents and you’ll be able to buy it! But honestly if they were going to give out a free copy to review it wouldn’t be to someone with no audience just saying. Anyway if you are actually into seeing whats so great about vorpx then just buy it dude.
KarlorParticipantOhh ok I get what you mean.. That is kinda odd that you have to exit out each time you change it. Not sure what it’s “supposed” to behave like, haven’t played Skyrim in a while. Maybe it’s G3D is somehow more complicated to switch to or something so it has to exit out first. Gunna have to ask the Ralphster if he has any ideas. Also you could try to use a memory hack to see if you can bump up your FPS inside G3D so you might not need to switch back and forth.
KarlorParticipantI had an issue similar to this about a year ago, all I did was re install vorpx and it seemed to fix it. Also maybe your having permission issues, like where ever vorpx is trying to save its settings to is somehow protected or set to read only or something? Might be worth checking out I’m not sure.
KarlorParticipantNot sure if this will help but maybe you have to turn on “expert” option in the vorpx config program. Maybe it will unlock the G3D option for Skyrim once your in game?
KarlorParticipantI’m sorry but what is going on in your brain? Why in gods name would you buy this program if you don’t have a headset? I Know your probably like 12 and like to say stuff just to say stuff and pretend-time on the internet is fun for you.. but really? I just think its depressing… anyway… yeah genius you need a headset to use vorpX.
KarlorParticipantI do remember that I installed a No hack cheat mod for VR play. Its cheating yes but I found the hacking to be a giant pain in the butt in VR so why punish yourself and just cheat a bit.
KarlorParticipantHi,
I to am getting this error and it is because my Oculus run time is out of date. The problem for me is I cant install the newest Oculus stuff because my .NEt framework is funky. Anyone know of a work around to install the newest Oculus run times without the need for a .NET 4 update? I guess I could do a system wipe and windows install but that sound like not so much fun rite now. -
