It works now I just played it will Geometry 3D and looks awesome again!

I disabled Antivirus and Steam overlay but what I think it did the trick was that I was starting SteamVR manually and in this case it works correctly if VorpX starts SteamVR when it detects the exe starting.

    Thanks!

Don’t get too excited yet. A first contact is better than nothing, but far from anything being done. I’ll let you know if something actually comes out of this.

Nice to read how you are involved to support new games. VR is getting bigger and I can see a very good future of this tool providing solutions for VR players :)

Please make sure to use the Black Mesa that can be purchased on Steam, not the older mod version. The issue that caused a crash with Vive has been resolved two or three vorpX versions ago.

BTW: No double (or triple in this case) posts regarding the same issue, one is enough. I have deleted the other ones.

Hi Ralph I was just trying to play the Black Mesa from Steam as you mentioned and VorpX just stays at “attaching to bms.exe”.
Of course I removed the d3d9.dll from there. The game works correctly, I will keep testing to see if there is a way to use it correctly but so far VorpX never attaches correctly.

I just had to stop playing because it crashed to desktop but I was playing like 1 hour aprox.
I was playing in Full VR and I was switching to Immersive VR Screen because the screen was moving sometimes. In both cases with FULL GEOMETRY and it looks awesome!!!

I could provide an advanced savegame, I reached the mansion.
The game is like a strange Black Mirror episode so far muehehehhe.

These are my Enderal Launcher settings:
    Vsync on
    Windowed

    Aspect Ratio User defined
    1280 x 960

    Antialiasing: None
    Aniso 16x
    Graphics Quality Ultra

Details: everything at maximum except FXAA and Blur Quality (I do not like blur)
Visibility: everything at maximum (FoV 80)
Gameplay: Kill cam and hud 100%
Optimization: Mem 7gb (still testing but this worked)
    CPU: 2 Cores

    Optimization:
    Only OSAllocators

    ExpMultithreading: None
    Controls: Activate Gamepad
    —————

I hope this could help to make VorpX more stable on this game.
    Totally worth of VR!!!

It’s possible you are hitting a memory limit and crashing the game. I imagine Enderal is using heavy modification to push the limit beyond skyrim’s memory limit. Keep in mind that vorpX needs additional memory usage on top of what the game uses alone.

You could trying lowering the resolution and see if that helps, and turn all settings down to low for testing.

I did it and it worked!! thanks for the recommendation!!

Somehow disabling all the optimizations and lowering to 1024×768 worked correctly and I could even run the DirectVR!!!

Now I will keep testing to see how much I can improve the quality without any crashes but yesterday I managed to play 1 hour without any crashes :)

And it looks amazing in VR!!!!!!!

You say the game runs fine without vorpX? does the crash happen on it’s own, or only when you try to do a directVR scan?

The game runs perfect without VorpX, actually I’m playing it, and that is why I would love to see it in VR.

The crash happens just by loading any savegame or starting to play, I cannot even try to do DirectVR or change any settings as it happens really fast.

What are your system specs? what video card, how much ram memory?

    I7 4790k + 16Gb + EVGA 1080ftw (factory oced) + Vive Pro
    Other games work flawlessly

Thanks I will try that too, and yes, Enderal is using some optimizations I will try to disable everything just for troubleshooting.

Noboy tried a way to set VorpX to work correctly with this latest version of Enderal?

The only 2 available profiles in the cloud are for the old mod (total conversion) and this new Game version on Steam crashes really fast.

    HELP?
If the old skyrim works flawlessly with VorpX why this new version crashes so fast? :(

Yeah, sorry for that one. Looks like the weapon fix broke the hair (and other dynamic objects). I’ll see what I can do, but it might be either one or the other, so no promises.

Ralf is there any hope that you could check why Enderal, mod of the original Skyrim, that should work with DirectVR doesn’t work at all? (crashes)

It was released as a Free Game in Steam but it actualy installs the Original Skyrim (https://store.steampowered.com/app/933480/Enderal_Forgotten_Stories/)

I’ve only played about 30 mins into the beginning so far, on the newly released steam version of Enderal, but it seems to be working fine.

I don’t know if it completely ignores old mods I had installed form vanilla skyrim or not, but it seemed vanilla to me.

The only thing I would think to try for now would be evaluate your hardware if you think you might be low on ram or vram. You could try changing some of those built in optimizations in the launcher. Does the game crash the same without vorpX?

If not a big bother, you could try backing up your skyrim and reinstalling it fresh. Or search other Enderal forums for similar crashes, they may have answers I havn’t the time to check atm. Good luck man.

The game works great without VorpX!
If I use VorpX I can see the main menu correctly, if I try to load a game the game crashes when the game is starting in 3 seconds. :(

What resolution are you using? maybe that is the difference. Also I have disabled both optimizations from the Enderal Settings the ENB and the allinone

    you have to rename enderal/d3d9.dll

vorpx tells that, i did and —-im starting now in 120 hours of best vr gameplay —-:)

I did that the very first time, yes, but how could this be that you are not having issues at all?

Wait, are you using the mod installed or the new released version from steam?
Because this one from steam is the one I have: https://store.steampowered.com/app/933480/Enderal_Forgotten_Stories/

And I know that the current VorpX should work because it is actually the old Skyrim

Not every game has memory scanner DirectVR. Whenever a game profile uses the memory scanner, you see the according message. Direct VR can be implemented in several ways, the memory scanner is just one potential way.

I was asking about Enderal (Skyrim mod) and now I’m reading this.
When I start Enderal I can see the DirectVR option to scan but the game crashes at the very 3 seconds of loading the savegame. Could this be that the DirectVR support fails because it is a mod? Because to be honest I thought that If the normal Skyrim works in VR this mod should also.

Is there any other problem with Vorpx and this game?

I know that with SkyrimVR every mod seems to work (among hundreds tried), not sure about via vorpx though.

Actually Skyrim VR comes from Skyrim SSE
In this case Enderal is a mod from the original Skyrim not the SSE, I think it is called also, OLDRIM :P

anyway, this is part of my point the old Original Skyrim worked wonderful with VorpX, actually it was my main reason to buy VORPX and I loved it. I just want to play Enderal the same way, the mod is beautiful!! I want this in VR :)

Ok I just tried and the game crashes anyway with the positional setting disabled

It barely starts I can see everything in 3D but the game crashes at 3rd second.

    HELP anyone?
    RALPH?

Brief testing found you must disable the built in ENBoost to avoid d3d9.dll conflict. This is easy: run Enderal Launcher, open Settings, Optimization tab, click ENBoost button so it is no longer blue, save settings. This basically just removes the d3d9.dll.

Now the game should run in vorpX with working directVR. It might seem to hang during opening cutscenes, but should respond again once loaded in game. Save often, you never know when the game could crash.

If you get any camera stutter, disable Positional tracking in the vorpX menu Direct VR page.

Thank you but the crash it is almost immediatly when starting the game… I can acess to the game menu, will try to disable positional tracking today to check.

The most I got was 2 seconds when the game looked AMAZING in Glorious3D and crashed to desktop hehehe
