OgrescarParticipantYou could try setting vr prerendered frames in nvidia control panel to a value higher than the default (1). It may help with link latency, might make it worse – can’t test it myself.
OgrescarParticipantThat’s close to the performance I get with my RTX2060 on ultra settings. Given that a 3080 is supposed to have an effective speed around 2.2 that of a 2060, I’d expect better performance too.
I use a Rift-S, not Quest2 so maybe an issue with the Link or the GPU is not being utilized fully.
OgrescarParticipantAFAIK, supersampling in an hmd is just setting the render target to a resolution higher than it’s 1.0 pixel ratio. If you want to invoke supersampling from vorpx, you have to set your in-game resolution high enough to exceed that.
Tweaks via SteamVR or Oculus Tray Tool or whatever may be reflected somehow in Crystal Image – you’d have to ask Ralf about that. Vorpx has the final say in the render target size, irregardless.
OgrescarParticipantNo problems hooking, but I’m seeing shaders flashing on and off on the map. Not sure if it’s the game or the profile.
OgrescarParticipantThe last time I checked, Vorpx ignored SteamVR supersampling. Have you checked your pixel density to verify your changes are working?
OgrescarParticipantEpic Games are evil, so I’ve heard. Locked up tight.
I could be wrong – no personal experience.
OgrescarParticipantThat video is definitely z3d without any adjustments to the depth buffer or convergence. It looks like crap, but people will post anything on youtube I guess.
OgrescarParticipantTried FS2 Open v 19 with reshade and the game is completely 2D – no z-buffer. You can still play it on a virtual screen, it’ll just be flat.
OgrescarParticipantNot sure if that’s feasible with vorpx, but it would be useful for profile authoring.
OgrescarParticipantThe newer versions of FS2 Open don’t work with Vorpx. Reshade may work – never tried it.
OgrescarParticipantI watched the video with virtual desktop in half-sbs mode and there’s depth, probably would look better uncompressed. Not inclined to test the profile though.
OgrescarParticipantBiggest improvement is just to increase the game’s resolution, especially if the game has a low-res depth buffer to begin with. I usually use a couple of other shaders for antialiasing and sharpening along with the superdepth shader, but it depends on the game – some look really good, others not so much.
OgrescarParticipantMaybe Ralf decided to abandon the most-wanted list, but it looks like a mistake to me.
OgrescarParticipantGame is sort of hook proof. Vorpx and tridef can’t get in.
Reshade/superdepthvr works if you want to go there.

OgrescarParticipantThe game works very well with superdepthvr and a viewer like vorpx desktop or virtual desktop, as long as you limit your framerate/resolution to give the viewer the gpu time it needs. There’s a custom profile for the game that comes with the shader so it’s almost a plug and play sort of thing.
