@ prinyo: no message should keep you from loading a savegame. It’s perfectly safe to load a savegame and start playing before all messages are shown.

That can happen with a new release unfortunately. Judging from prior releases it should be gone soon. Microsoft is usually fast fixing false positives.

Until then excluding the vorpX program folder from scanning is the right thing to do.

Judging from prior releases the issue will probably be gone in a few days. Until then exluding the vorpX program folder from scanning is the right thing to do.

If you have Direct VR positional tracking enabled, please reinstall vorpX to get the latest hotfix from earlier today. There was an issue with swapped y/z axes and positional Direct VR. Sounds like that is what you observed.

    Merry X-mas to you too.

The main goal of this update was to make things more accessible for those who don’t want to tweak, but prefer to have things just working.

That said, having been an avid Morrowind/Oblivion modder/tweaker myself back in the day, those who like to tweak themselves were not forgotten. You can disable all auto configuration globally in the config app (“General” page, “Never change any game settings”), or on a game to game basis in the vorpX ingame menu (“Direct VR” page).

The Windows 10 fix is automatically aplied when the game is started. The same is true for everything that the game optimizer did before this release. It is now integrated in the core app.

FO3 specifically: incidentally I checked the game earlier today to do the hotfix linked above. All I can say is that there definitely is no general issue with the game. What you could try is checking the “Never change any game settings” checkbox in the config app. That’s the only thing that has really changed in regard to FO3 from the last release.

Normally vorpX should auto-update. If it doesn’t you can get a new installer here. Make sure to enter the same mail address into the form that you used to register vorpX.

I can’t really recommend anything else than above, sorry guys. If vorpX can’t hook into a program, that’s usually related to some injection conflict with another program that also hooks into games.

The very first thing to check is your virus scanner if it is anything else that Windows Defender. Apart from that typical candidates are GPU/CPU utilities, chat programs, video recording software and generally anything that can display notifications in games.

You can create a trouble shoot archive in the config app and send that to support |at| vorpx com. That is no guarantee for a solution but I can look into it later this week.

You need to make sure that you enter the same mail address into the download form that you used to register vorpX originally, otherwise the request will not be processed.

Please try switching switch to Z-Buffer 3D and check whether that solves the problem.

You should have received your key now. Let me know if it still did not reach you.

Disable BattleEye, that will solve the issue. BattleEye blocks any programs that hook into the game like vorpX, even if they are perfectly aware that it’s not a cheat program. Discussing the matter with its author lead nowhere, he calls this not exactly sophisticated simple block “proactive cheat protection”.

In most cases that is true, but no rule without exceptions.

“Full VR” refers to the “Play Style” setting in the vorpX menu (“Full VR”, “Immersive Screen”, “Cinema”). If mentioned in the changelog that’s the default value chosen for the profile.

The AC:Origins line may look strange at first, but makes sense when you know that the Direct VR settings optimizer is aware of the currently active “Play Style” and adjusts FOV and resolution accordingly. While making the profile I found that the game works quite well in full VR mode for a third person title, hence the “(full VR)”. The same is true for other third person games as well.

I’ll have to think a bit how to visualize these things in a way that doesn’t look as butt ugly as the spreadsheet – originally based on an internal one from here BTW. Will do so shortly, but now I desperately need two or three days (semi-)off.
