RalfKeymasterSounds like a neat idea. With the DK2 something like that should be possible.
RalfKeymasterAlmost certainly the cause of your issue is a glitch in your vorpX or Skyrim config. This message indicates that the game tries to switch to a resolution that is not supported by the display device. Usually this means that either the Rifts display orientation is not set correctly or that the game is not set to the desired display resoution.
Please double check whether you followed all steps in the DK2 Setup Guide and set the resolution of the game to 1920×1080 fullscreen.
You have two options to use vorpX:
A. The convenient one (works with most games)
1. Set the Rift DK2 to “Extend Desktop to HMD”
2. Use the Rift DK2 as SECONDARY monitor in Windows
3. Set the Rift DK2 to “Portrait” mode in Windows
(might be “Landscape flipped” in Windows 8)
4. Set vorpX to “Show on DK2″ display wise in the vorpX config app.B. The compatible one
1. Set the Rift DK2 to “Extend Desktop to HMD”
2. Use the Rift DK2 as PRIMARY monitor in Windows
3. Set the Rift DK2 to “Portrait” mode in Windows
(might be “Landscape flipped” in Windows 8)
4. Set vorpX to “Use system settings” display wise in the vorpX config app.It is important to choose the right setting in the vorpX config app according to your display settings in Windows. RalfKeymasterThis sounds very much like an issue with a recent nVidia driver that forced the DK2 into a mode that displays two screens. Should be fixed with he latest one. Otherwise 347.09 was the last working before they introduced this problem IIRC.
RalfKeymasterGlad this was solved so quickly.
If you exit or even uninstall vorpX and your games are not displayed like normally on a monitor, it’s certainly not vorpX that causes your issue.
If you need another download, please send a mail to support |at| vorpx com.
I removed the swearing from the thread title as this is against the rules. Please mind your language.
RalfKeymasterSwapped eyes are technically impossible with vorpX.
If you have problems converging, there are three things you should check:
1. Try to adjust your interpupillary distance (IPD) setting like Karlor suggested.
2. Try to lower the “3D Strength” setting in the vorpX ingame menu.
3. Make sure that all games run at 1920×1080 fullscreen (for the DK2). Other resolutions can lead to problems similar to what you describe.
RalfKeymasterDid you try to create a vorpX desktop shortcut? Shortcuts in many cases can help in problematic cases. Probably won’t help with the Steam version (Slender: The Arrival), but for Slender: The Eight Pages this *should* ensure succesful injection.
To create a vorpX desktop shortcut:
1. Right click the vorpX tray icon
2. Select “Create Desktop Shortcut”
3. Navigate to the game’s .exe in the dialog that opens
4. double click the .exeThis creates a special shortcut on your desktop that in some cases can hook more reliable than the auto detection.
RalfKeymasterPlease make sure to take a look at the Essential Game Hints guide and the Quick Reference in the vorpX help. vorpX provides several functions that deal with the field of view and other display related things.
What you are probably looking for is the EdgePeek function (default: middle mouse button) that allows you look around the screen.
Some games also allow you to adjust the HUD size and depth on the display page of the vorpX ingame menu.
Adjusting the FOV is also VERY important for a pleasent experience. The Essential Game Hints guide lists the various options you have in this regard.
RalfKeymasterSkyrim is one of the most played games with vorpX. If you follow the steps mentioned in the game optimizer and in the vorpX startup message, it works very, very well (despite being a bit slow in Geometry 3D). The most important thing to do is setting the FOV to 120. Do this while you are in the game, not in the main menu. Otherwise it won’t work. You can also adjust the Skyrim UI and various other things in the vorpX ingame menu to make this game a more than worthwile VR experience.
Controller: Not sure whether I fully understand your issue. Please disable your gamepad in the Skyrim options, you will still be able to use a gamepad since vorpX has a built in gamepad emulation. If for some reason you can’t get that to work, you can also use an external gamepad emulator like Xpadder or play with mouse and keyboard.
If you have problems with multiple programs not hooking at all, there is almost certainly something on your PC that also tries to hook into games, creating a conflict with vorpX. Various kinds of programs can cause such a conflict, the trouble shooting guide in the help has a few hints in this regard.
Hope that helps.
RalfKeymasterAlien Isolation: Please user either the native support OR vorpX, not both together.
Battlefield: Sounds like an issue that can happen if a game is not set to the Rifts native resolution. Please make sure to set all games to 1920×1080 fullscreen for the DK2 prior to using them with vorpX. Other resolutions may result in issues similar to what you describe. This is the most likely cause of the issue.
If that does not solve your issue, please check the IPD (interpupillary distance). The default should work fine for an avarage person, but if your IPD is wastly different from avarage you might have to adjust this to be able to converge the image comfortably.
Just in case: You probably did that already, but if you didn’t, please also consult the DK2 Setup Guide in the vorpX help. A wrong display orientation can also lead to strange display issues.
RalfKeymasterPlease make sure to enter both the name and the key EXACTLY as shown in the key e-mail. The name line has to include the e-mail address. This will almost certainly solve your issue. The easiest to ensure that everything is correct, is to use COPY & PASTE. Do not type in anything manually.

For a more detailed guide including screenshots please check the DK2 setup guide that comes with vorpX.
RalfKeymaster@ a87427617: Please also make sure to run the game in fullscreen mode when you use the Rift as secondary display together with “Show only on Rift DK2” in vorpX. In windowed mode forcing the game to the Rift may fail.
RalfKeymasterThe obvious things first, just in case you missed it so far: Please make sure to follow the DK2 Setup guide in the help. It mentions two possible configurations (Rift as primary and Rift as secondary monitor). Try both and make sure to follow all steps mentioned there.
Also please reinstall the latest runtime from the Oculus website, just to make sure you have the newest one. it should install with vorpX, but that might have failed for some reason.
If that does not solve your problem, and you have issues with multiple games not hooking, it’s quite likely that something on your PC is interfering with vorpX. This can be a display driver add-on, a chat prgram that hooks into games, a virus scanner and some other things. There is a trouble shooting guide in the help that lists the most common things in this regard.
RalfKeymasterThis is probably solved already. If not, please use the contact form. May take a bit longer this way to get your key, but this will also work in case you can’t send an e-mail for some reason.
RalfKeymasterI recently purchased a 1TB SSD just for games for the main dev machine. If you have to start a game dozens of times while adjusting settings, a HDD is unbearable even with huge amounts of RAM.
