Try with/without antialising enabled. In some cases that may affect the Z-Buffer heuristics.

It’s also possible that Z3D isn’t really authored in the profiles in questions and vorpX tries to figure out a depth buffer, but catches the wrong one. In that case, just stick to G3D.

I recall someone else having a similarl issue recently. Turned out that for there was an acces rights issue concerning the folder where the settings are stored.

To check whether you are affected by the same issue:

    1. Make sure ‘Show hidden files’ is enabled in Window Explorer.
    2. Browse to C:\ProgramData\Animation Labs\vorpX.
    3. Try to create a new file in this folder.

If you either can’t access this folder at all or you can’t create a new file in it, something is wrong. In that case make sure that your normal Windows user has full access to the C:\ProgramData\Animation Labs\vorpX folder.

If you do a normal update via Windows Update, you don’t have to reinstall anything. I have an older Windows 10 test machine here that works with the same vorpX key since more than five years.

nVidia has a better solution for that, much easier to handle.

Calling vpxGetControllerRotation() or vpxGetControllerPosition() should only disable the rendering, vorpX in that case per default assumes you want to render some custom model. The internal rendering can be forced back on with vpxForceVorpControllerRendering(VPX_TRUE) if that assumption in not correct.

Unless there is some bug, that should do what you primarily want to do. Let me know whether that does the trick or not.

I’l add a similar vpxForce… override for the controller button/axes handling after calling vpxGetControllerState(). Didn’t really occur to me at the time that someone might want to get the state without handling controller input entirely. But thinking about it there may indeed be good reason for that. I’ll update the current beta build in the next few days and let you know here.

    That’s still how it works.

The first option (different purchaser/recipient) is how gifting digital goods works in most online stores, the only drawback here is that your nephew would be immediately notified of the purchase. So if you want to surprise him later, the second option would be better.

First please make sure that you didn’t accidentally disable automatic settings changes in the vorpX config app. Dolphin only works when run in DX11 mode, vorpX should make the necessary config change normally.

If auto settings are enabled and for some reason changing the renderer to DX11 still doesn’t work, you can do that manually in Dolphin’s video options.

If vorpX can’t hook into anyting, there is almost certainly something interfering.

First wait a minute or so when you see the ‘Attaching To’ dialog. The dialog will then display various trouble shooting options. Try to install a hook helper, which can solve many injection conflicts without figuring out the root cause.

If that doesn’t help or you don’t even see the ‘Attaching To’ dialog:

If you use any other AV program than Windows Defender, first and foremost get rid of that. Windows Defender will kick in automatically. Some of the more annyoing ones are really hard to disable, so the only way to ensure they don’t interfere may be uninstalling.

Secondly disable/uninstall *every* tool you may have running in the background. That’s the best and actually only viable way to troubleshoot issues like this.

Please note that none of the games you list is supported. vorpX (obviously) cannot support every game ever released, it usually requires game specific profiles. You can however try to get unsupported games running in several ways if vorpX doen’t hook into them automatically.

Usually I can’t say too much to unsupported games which haven’t been checked here, but since you asked so nicely: ;)

Spiderman Remastered and Need for Speed Unbound both use DX12. You *MIGHT* get them running with the 23.1.0 beta version linked in the ‘General’ section of the forum. In contrast to prior vorpX versions the latest beta tries to hook unknown DX12 games. There is no guarantee though.

If that doesn’t work you have to find out what engine the game uses and try to create your own profile based on one made for a game that uses the same engine. The vorpX help has more information on that in the ‘User Profiles’ section.

If all fails, you can always use the vorpX desktop viewer and play games in ‘borderless window’ mode. Most newer games let you choose that in their options. That’s the least desirable option though since vorpX can’t convert a game to 3D when you use the desktop viewer.

There are two beginner’s guides in the vorpX help that explain the most important stuff, but Fallout 4 is one of the games where you actually don’t really need one. Except from dialing in graphics details and resolution to match your PC’s performance (rendering in stereo 3D is more demanding than rendering mono), all you have to do pressing a button after entering the game and vorpX takes care of the rest. Precise instructions are shown in the game window.

Gamepads work like they normally do after pressing said button.

@luka: Thanks! Recentering head tracking (alt+space or in the vorpX menu) may help with the steering gesture if it loses track occasionally.

Assuming you still didn’t try that: please install the standalone version from the first post in this thread, which may work for you if the beta of the next regular vorpX release doesn’t for some reason. Let me know if that still doesn’t solve your isssue.

Please download the latest standalone version from the first post of this thread then. I’d really like to help you, but that ain’t gonna work as long as you ignore what I suggest. ;)
