Update: Yeah its definitely that.
I switched out the monitor for my HMZ and then it all worked fine. What happens with my monitor is that there isn’t even an entry for it in VorpX drop down. I either get “Use system settings” or “Show on DK2”. I dont get any other option. With the HMZ it also said “Show on HMZ”.
Sometimes I get head tracking in F1 2012, it’s really hit or miss, sometimes it works, most times it causes my computer to hard crash. Or I have to restart my computer 3 or 4 times to get head tracking properly working in F1 2012.
I recently got F1 2014 and I have nothing. Vorpx doesn’t even let me change the 3D, it is just off, I don’t get the option for Z-adaptive or whatever the other two options were.
Anyone know a work around or how I can get this fixed?
Thanks.
For bioshock infinite I could get high framerate on ultra settings, with AA, 2D only.
with geometry 3D, framerate took a masive nosedive, even on ‘low’ settings with no AA the framerate was bad, to me it seems way lower than half the frame rate, but I cannot tell until I have the next update of vorpx which may have an FPS counter.
I am using GTX 750ti
It’s my friday night and I’ve spent several hours on this.. but alas no luck… I even tried what another user tried.. clicking cancel to try to prevent the VorpX installer from installing runtime 0.4.1 but I’m just not faster than my systsem, and when I am faster it fails anyway when it comes time to config… and it’s not hooking on anything it did before… but everything else works that worked before, so I know the rift is fine… I cannot accept being forced to downgrade my runtime.. and it DEFINITELY does not work with the current runtime … so saying it’s downloading the latest which is a few versions behinds is a bit false…
Every single time, VorpX breaks my installation… I even had to resort to editing my registry twice to get my main video card’s drivers to work again, and I’m not the only one … I found that fix elsewhere… so until vorpx stops forcing runtime installations I’m done trying, it’s taken up way too many hours and I’m a software developer myself.. I can’t spend all my time doing this.. so I will wait until a confirmed 0.4.4+ version is ready and one that doesn’t force a runtime install of their choosing without permission..
No offense intended.. the support has been great.. but that part needs addressed… there should be a prompt, a warning.. and not necessarily a cancel.. maybe it will work.. but let them have the choice… proceed with or without it
I cant even get Steamvr to converge correctly
Hello,
I installed vorpx earlier and set the configurations according to the documentation. It was fine, but the next time i put on my DK2, i’m having a double vision problem (not just in games. All time. Even the extended desktop is double visioned as well. The same with every game). I do not remember the exact time that the problem first occurred. It could be the moment which i ended skyrim and took off my DK2, or it could be when i started minecraft (i started the game on the main monitor, dragged it into Dk2, and by the time i put on my DK2 to play the game, there was the problem already). I have tried to set the display mode to HMD, and there won’t be any problem. However, once i switch it back to extend mode, i get the same double vision. My configurations are as below: (In extended mode)

Please help me!
Hi Ralf!
In one of your previous comments you said, that there aren’t any issues your are aware of, that might prevent STALKER COP to run on DK2 with VorpX.
Well, I tried yesterday several times, but no luck. The game starts, but the rift shows only black screen, no matter what I do. So, would you please take a look at it? A guide would be quite useful, f.e. the rift is primary or secondary screen, landscape or portrait view, what’s with the settings of OR utility (where you adjust extended mode, configuration utility, etc.).
If you found a solution, I am sure, that number of VorpX customers would highly increase, becouse as you know, Lost Alpha uses COP’s engine, and Lost Alpha will get an updated Developer’s Cut release soon. This will make Lost Alpha the best graphics and atmosphere STALKER game ever made, and lots of people will want to play it on DK2.
Thank you, greetings!
Not sure about the menu issue unfortunately. If that happens with multiple games in a similar fashion, please check for programs that might interfere with vorpX. The trouble shooting guide in the help has a few tips in this regard.
Regarding the zoomed in image there are several things you can do. You can get many games look almost perfect in this regard. And even for those that do not offer FOV control, neither directly, nor through vorpX, there are functions in vorpX to make them playable, although not in a perfect way.
From best to worst here is what you can do:
1. Set the game FOV directly in the game if it provides to dial in an FOV of 120°,
2. Set the game FOV directly with the vorpX Game Optimizer (vorpX config app) for games that support it.
3. Set the game FOV to 120 manually through an ini tweak or external tool (avaliable for many games, google FOV + game name).
4. Use the 3D FOV Enhancement in the vorpX ingame menu (availabe in Geometry 3D games).
5. Use one of the letterbox aspect ratio modes in the vorpX ingame menu and/or ImageZoom
6. Use the 2D FOV-Enhancement in the vopX ingame menu (be aware that this distorts the image)
I tried that in F1 2012, turning off internal gamepad handling, however that didn’t make any difference. Though I will try Outlast and F1 again after a reboot to see if it works.
One thing I can’t figure out is how to emulate the look functions of the rift, it’s inputs, to be handled by the game. Perhaps a more in depth tutorial, or video if possible, showing how to do that?
I did get some headtracking in Dirt, but it was laggy and needed to be recentered quite frequently, but that was before trying Vorpx, after installing Vorpx I haven’t been able to get any headtracking in the supported games, even with Opentrack.
I apologize if all this is easy stuff, I’m just new to everything and learning as I go. Thanks.
Skyrim (maybe Outlast too): If you have a gamepad attached to your PC, please make sure to disable it in the game options. Skyrim disables the mouse when a gamepad is enabled, which also disables vorpX’s head tracking.
You will still be able to use your gamepad through the built in gamepad emulation in vorpX.
If that doesn’t work, please make sure that no other program is accessing your Rift at the same time. This might even be a crashed one. if in doubt, reboot your PC.
For games without a mouselook function (like many racing games) things are a bit more complicated:
One option is OpenTrack, the other option to emulate a gamepad axis with the vorpX head tracking. The first option is the better one, simulating a gamepad has a few drawbacks.
A. OpenTrack compatible with DK2:

B. Head tracking as gamepad
1. Press [DEL] to open the in-game menu
2. Go to Input page
3. Set ‘Handle Gamepads Internally’ to Off
4. Set ‘Headtracking as Gamepad’ to Relative or Absolute depending on the game. You should get a grasp of what is better quickly.
5. Map the emulated ‘gamepad’ to the look around functions in the game you want to play. Do not leave this step out, it’s vital!
The options below this should be more or less self explanatory except maybe Deadzone Correction, which efectively eliminates analog stick deadzones set by the game.
Now you are able to look around in your cockpit. The view has to be centered from time to time because of possible yaw drift (should be greatly reduced with an calibrated magnetometer). There is a shortcut for centering.
I have tried several games that are on the support list, F1 2012, Skyrim, as well as Outlast. I’ve responded to several topics hoping for a response but there doesn’t seem to be any, so I thought I’d create my own thread.
I can’t get headtracking with any of them, and I have even tried using Opentrack, but nothing seems to work. I want to set the rift input as the analogue stick on the controller to look around, but I can’t figure out how to do that, and I didn’t see anything in the settings. Or I couldn’t figure it out.
My system specs are.
DK2
Runtime 0.4.x (not sure but I know it’s 4)
i7 4790k Win 7 64
GTX 780 ti 3gb
16gb ram, if that’s important.
Other Rift games, like Windlands, and Radial G, work great. I also had some head and positional tracking, in Dirt 3, DCS, and War Thunder, although it was extremely laggy.
I did get GTA to run but like F1, and Skyrim, there is no head or positional tracking. Other than that, the 3D is great and the visuals are nice, I just can’t figure out how to get head tracking working.
Thanks for any support.
I would like to find a way to get BF4 working with 3d as well (hell I would even be happy with just Z-3d, but currently it does nothing, looks the same as “off”), but unfortunately, renaming it seems like it is not an option. I just went a tried, and if bf4.exe (or bf4_x86.exe) is not named bf4.exe(or bf4_x86.exe), it won’t launch, origin will pop up an error saying that the game is not installed… And I can’t seem to find a way to point origin towards a renamed .exe.
I really hope BF4’s 3d issues get fixed in the next Vorpx update.
Did you read the various guides in the help? Below you find what you can do about a “zoomed in” image.
You should also check the quick reference that explains a lot of useful vorpX functions which allow you to use invisible menu parts (EdgePeek) in corners etc. Do yourself a favour and really read these things. Saves a lot of head scratching. :)

I cannot get to step two because as soon as the Oculus is turned on and detected by windows as a monitor, the display window appears on it and not the monitor, and since the oculus screen is rotated at that point, I can’t do anything else. It doesn’t even matter if its the primary monitor because changing the HDMI outputs on my video card will work too, but no matter which is primary, the display window always moves to the oculus.
I played around with it tonight with some help from Steam Communities. The problem seems to be that even if I choose the 32bit executable, it always runs the 64 bit one. If I bugger around and actually replace the 64 bit one with the 32 bit one (renaming the executable), everything works fine.
I can’t remember whether vorpX supports 64 bit applications. The textures on the 64 bit one are far superior so if I could get this running that would be an advantage. Do I have to do something special to run a 64 bit app?
