RJK_ParticipantThe first thing you should do when such a thing happens, restart your PC. Have you done that ?
RJK_ParticipantHow much is that in games ? I got about 200 installed so far without any noticable slowdown. I got firefox hanging up my pc recently a lot, but that should be caused by somthing else.
RJK_Participant..still need to play 684 games from before 2020
…best wishes

RJK_ParticipantThis is the main prodedure:
Open games.exe in a hex editor, find:
d3d9.dllReplace it with:
v3d9.dllthen rename dgVoodoo2’s d3d9.dll to v3d9.dll and put it in C:\Windows\SysWOW64.
Some games require additional files, if the above doesnt work, search the game driectory for other files containing d3d9.dll, replace their content like above.Note:Some games wont still not work this way, Avatar for example.
BTW Ghost Recon should be DX8, only D3d8.dll that you need to put in the games folder where the games exe is located and use the vorpx DGVoodoo2 base profile. If that doesnt work, try other DGVoodoo2 profiles.

RJK_ParticipantSurpise surprise, thats how things change sometimes, i was able to get the latest steam version of Max Payne 1 to run in 3D with VorpX, the retail game was notoroiusly crashing here, see details here: https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/max-payne-d3d8to9/
RJK_ParticipantAdditional Info
YOU MAY NEED THIS PATCH depending on the game version that you are using

RJK_ParticipantI am curious, do you play Enclave through openGL, or DirectX with the profile from the cloud ?
RJK_ParticipantCouldnt sit still without trying something else ;-)
Max Payne 2
I made a profile through the DX9 fixed function pipeline that is adjusted a bit in an unusual way, but works at least in Z3D, G3D has the same glitches as with DGVoodoo2. I evened out the depth problem for certain objects depending on their distance to the camera (door frames) with a negative “Focal Offset” value. Thats why i suggest to play the game in Cinema Modes, though Full VR is also working.
See here for more details:
RJK_ParticipantPlease note, my posting above wasnt meant as a complaint, rather a report that someone had sat down already on those games. With DGVoodoo2 its just the same as other DX9/11 games, we can not get all of them to work and im my eyes its best to leave the parser as it is.
RJK_ParticipantI would guess the emulator may still work with drivers older then 418x.At least worth a try. Not shure though if VorpX 20.1 depends on newer drivers now.
RJK_ParticipantIve tried to fix both games before with DGVoodoo, IIRC the first game was only partly 3D and kept crashing. Spend several hours especially with version 2 but alwys ended up with some objects being either 2D or displaced. I think 1st one was DX7, 2nd one definately DX8.Gave up after a while..

RJK_ParticipantI noticed Hellblade on Steam for 9,99 including the VR version. Probably wont buy it because of the missing speech localisiation but they say the graphics were outstanding.
RJK_ParticipantFunny, ive played D1 with hundrets of levels all the way through years ago (2D), i even created some levels with “Devil”, remember ,-) I kept D2 including all the old D1 levels on my drive ever since.
With me D2X-XL looked a bit funny with vorpX when i tried it the last time (few month ago). Hard to explain, it was like the rendering had a lag and/or frames where evened out in a funny way that made me motion sick more quickly then with any other game.
It looked a bit like that bug long time ago that users were reporting after a vorpx update where everything was like “under water”. IIRC that had to do with the motion smoothing when it was first introduced by SteamVR.
Can anyone confirm this behave for D2X-XL ?Dec 25, 2019 at 6:10pm in reply to: I would love some clarification about making a remaster work #191212
RJK_ParticipantI guess there is not much you can do but trying out different profiles from DX11 games. The old game profile is DX9 and will not provide 3D for the game.
If only parts of your game appear in 3D, editing shaders will very likely not be enough. Though you try out different shader settings and see if it helps. A profile author with more options should need to have a look at the game. Unfortunately i am not with EA, so if you turn out unsucessful you may put your game on the official wishlist.
best if you try out DX11 profiles only, dont forget the DX11 games from the “unknown” list, each game is setup differently.
RJK_ParticipantThanks for the hint !
