Hello. I have just bought Cyberpunk after a long wait (I was waiting for it to become more complete and I think it is now) and I just tried to make it work with this VR mod.
I have followed every step to install it BUT when I launched it via steam, or Oculus home, or directly with the exe in the bin folder, it just didn’t hook : The game still start in pancake mode, on my screen, no VR.
I have no mods installed, No nexus, alredady uninstall/ reinstall everything, deleted d3d12on7 folder and de dll inside it, replace the CET folder with the latest,… EVERYTHING, but it still doesn’t hook, NO VR.
Can somebody please help me? I am surely missing something but I don’t know what…
@dellrifter22
Fired up this game and followed your instructions.. thank you
– deleted battleye successfully and used your Cloud profile (no Uplay at my end, Ubisoft Connect only so I did not do anything here as it hooked)
– it hooked okay and inside the game I had the choice of Z3D Normal and Adaptive (no experimental G3D as you mentioned)
but sadly no 3D at all even no Z3D although showing in Vorpx Menu.
dont know why.
Temporal injection AA was OFF
(Oculus 2 headset)
Ps. I tried with Reshade and Superdepth 3D and it works well with Desktop Viewer, but prefer Vorpx yet that does not show any 3D for some reason.
the problem is essentially their game design, not a version – randomly generated levels are completely random with enemies and items spawning inside walls, and since they cant have ai pathfinding in a random mess they generate enemies have to teleport in a crow particles to you and then try to fight in a prefab mess they scattered. Animations and movement is not polished in themselves since its not a big aaa studio and combined with random placement map part jank it just multiplies.
I managed to get it to run at 90 with some ue tweaks in config files and it runs in dx11, well Im using launch parameters to make sure it does because there are only 2 dx12 profiles: cyberpunk and game-that-we-cant-speak-of so essentially just cyberpunk and it doesnt have g3d or z3d in dream cycle even though it hooks.
Most of you who know me a bit probably noticed already that contrary to how „good“ advertising works I don’t really like to promise the moon, so just to keep expectations in check a bit:
This would only with with G3D profiles except for games with positional tracking via game specific DirectVR magic.
When done via G3D moving the camera over larger distances causes visual glitches in games with more complex deferred renderers.
May mess up mouse/gamepad rotation in some games.
Head/face geometry will probably flicker in occasionally when the camera is moved inside/in front of the head.
That said: I will definitely check whether it works well enough in a variety of games and depending on how much of an actual issue the points above turn out to be actually, decide whether it‘s worth it or not.
Anyone encountered the issue that the game stops for split second every 10 seconds with Vorpx?
it works great otherwise, NONE of the game settings matter, if low, V-synch off or anything – tried it all – nothing works , the game runs okay without stopping without vorpx, but with vorpx loaded, it stops for split second inside the game and is basically unplayable.. anyone know a fix?
Hi Ralf, I am playing Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy in 3D with Vorpx and its great.
Now I also have the Marvels Avengers game. I copied the Guardians Vorpx profile and it hooked to Avengers, but inside the game I can not adjust any 3D strength, no settings, nothing changes etc, so I doubt the 3D is working..
I read online that both games use also different 3D engines. Guardians using DAWN Engine and Avengers FOUNDATION engine (same like Shadow of Tomb Raider and Rise of Tomb Raider).
I tried both those vorpx profiles on Avengers, but none of them hooked, also not with hook helper.
As said the Guardians profile hooked but I dont think there is any 3D. That said, I swear I see depth in the game , not sure if the game itself is build with some 3d depth or something is working after all or I am just so crossed-eyed after so many games that I imagine to see things in 3D myself! haha. Similar phenomena I remember from Deathloop where the game felt 3D but wasnt, which was clear until you launched the official Vorpx profile and then the whole world was in amazing 3D.
Do you have a way to check it? or better, consider an official Vropx profile for the Marvel Avengers game?
No, no profile but lots of research and testing :)
My steps:
– in Steam I unchecked the box : Enable the steam overlay while in game
– downloaded https://framedsc.com/GameGuides/mgsv_phantom_pain.htm DXVK from this website
– extracted in the directory , copied the set up_dxvk.sh file into same directory like theh exe as well as all 64 dll files.
– tested without reshade, game starts
run reshade 4.9.1 , only that version works X95
– selected mgsvtpp.exe in application
– selected vulcan
installed Superdept3dvr+fx
There is also a hint that on start up another active document has to be open. Test it. I think it runs for me without that part.
if not, open a word document and start the game and quickly change to the word document and type something inside so its an ACTIVE document open and game starts in background.
For me this would be a risky purchase. Unless I was super keen on this game I would wait for a discount sale to try it. Although you can use the steam refund program, if you can get your testing done before the 2 hour playtime mark.
I knew nothing of this game, but here is what I learned by briefly searching key words among the steam discussions.
-Unreal Engine 4 game (good)
-dx12 (bad)
-no mention of FOV increase options (bad)
-cockpit camera video looks like it may have very limited movement, locked to the horizon (bad)
dx12 is the major obstacle here, as we only have a handful of profiles to test with currently. I’ll just say that out of 4 unofficial dx12 games in my library, only 1 has worked with Z3D. And yes, dx12 is Z3D only at this point.
Here are the profiles I would try:
Grounded
CyberPunk 2077
Rdr2
Resident Evil Village
Horizon Zero Dawn
Death Stranding
Deathloop
Dying Light 2
And remember that the true exe for UE4 games are hidden inside the Binaries/Win64 folder and always end with the words “shipping.exe”
Reverb G2 (version 2) in VorpX is a great experience! I’ve just upgraded my aging Oculus CV1 after building a new PC a few months ago (GTX 3070Ti GPU… waiting list on a 3080 was too long), and the difference is pretty staggering. I’m running most of the games I’ve tried so far at ~4k desktop resolution and piping them into VorpX. The end result would be a resolution I’d visually describe as somewhat equivalent to sitting in front of a 1440p display running at 90hz… but on any size of screen you want, and in full 3D if you like. Pretty great! Also, the contrast is quite good for an LCD type panel, and there’s basically no God-rays, and certainly no screendoor effect (wow, CV1 – how did I live with you for so long?). Peripheral vision is… eh… passable. Reverb G2 has a pretty small sweet spot where it looks crystal clear in the middle, but then begins to blur and has chromatic aberration off-centre. So, you won’t want to roll your eyeballs around a lot inside the headset… better to move your head and look directly at the things you want to view. Also it’s pretty comfortable, even while I’m wearing glasses.
Overall, G2 seems like an excellent fit for VorpX. I’m really looking forward to revisiting a lot of my PC gaming catalogue with this setup!
You might need to enable ‘expert settings’ in the vorpX desktop config app first to see this option in the game ‘delete menu’. Apply and close. On the first main settings page there should be a button for something like ‘more fullVR settings’, inside which should be the dominant eye setting.
In Call of the wild this will actually show the scope in only that dominant eye, which is kind of neat, as most games don’t bring the scopes that close to your face. It can feel a bit strange at first though. it helps to close one eye, like you would with a real scope.
Did you go through the entire trouble shooting guide on the top of this sub forum? Issues like this may be caused by other programs also hooking into games.
Not entirely sure what you mean by ‘running it from the Steam desktop’, but if that means running it from inside the VR headset using the Steam VR theater, please don’t do that. Instead launch it normally from the Windows desktop.
I connect via AirLink or LinkCable, I open SteamVr, I run Vorpx and then open Sims 4.
I can see it running on the big screen but if I change it to Immersive View or Full VR I can still see the margins of the big screen and the virtual room behind me. It looks like I am closer to the screen but not “inside” the game.
What do I do wrong? I have seen some examples on YouTube and it looks good compared to my experience.
Hey, so I thought I’d post since this is the only game that does this, but this might not be related to VorpX, hoping someone might have a solution here though. As soon as I put on the headset the fps drop – both the game on the PC screen and on the Rift S freeze(I get the hourglass on the Rift and nothing moves). That happens in game, not on the main menu.
I’m running on a GTX 1060 6GB, i7-12700K, 32GB RAM, playing with an xbox controller and I have 3 monitors connected to my PC. The one I’m running Elden Ring on is 3440×1440, the other 2 are 4K.
Now here’s the good part.
If I alt-tab out of the game or if I don’t move AT ALL, it shows up fine. If I alt-tab of course I can’t move in the game, and the slightest movement in game will make it freeze again. Now I’ve been having problems with Elden Ring and the mouse cursor in general, if I move it inside the window on any menu the game will do the same thing, even without the Rift. I’m suspecting the issue could be from the head-tracked “cursor” that pops up in the Rift when you use a controller. But I can’t play without a controller anyway because of the cursor freezing.
I’ve tried different resolutions, a different monitor, lowering graphics, Windowed mode(this one actually makes the game playable with the mouse but doesn’t fix the Rift freezing). I’ve disabled full-screen optimizations for elden ring. Tried different scaling options and resolutions for my monitor. Tried disconnecting the other two monitors as well. I’m all out of ideas at this point. It’s only Elden Ring T_T
