When I launch Witcher 3 controllers are not recognized. Game starts in Vorpx, I see it in HMD, however controllers are not shown and no keys are recognized.

Using Quest2 with Link. Everything worked a couple of month ago, today it updated to new version when I started Vorpx.

Did anything change, is there something I should do?

    Thanks

Maybe I misunderstood the post, but I think you can remap most of the vorpX keys in the desktop config app. I’ve assigned my Q key to recenter my view in vorpX. Maybe you can just assign your extra mouse button instead.

Remember to restart vorpX after changing any keys, for them to take effect.

I managed to get the game to hook, but I can’t use the vorpx in game menu, none of the hotkeys work, and it runs horribly slow, lowering the game settings doesn’t seem to help, and since I can’t access vorpx menu I dont know which mode its running in.

    Any ideas?

Keys stay valid until you change vital hardware or reinstall Windows. You can avoid having to wait for a new key when you just reinstall vorpX by keeping the key e-mail.

Like mentioned in the other thread, steam does not sell keys. If you wish to provide one, you must go either to ebay or a trusted key seller like this one for example. GOG would be an option too. Its also highly important to follow the conditions on my request page before sending a key. (No third party stuff for example.)

Steam doesnt sell keys unfortunately, any keys would be required to be purchased from a shop that sales keys. Example

Not really sure about the underlying issue, but if readjusting with the gamepad would do the trick, then you should be able to do that by changing the sensitivity of the right stick‘s y-axis. Even when a gamepad is used natively vorpX reduces the y-axis sensitivity of the right stick in FullVR mode to avoid unwanted y-axis movement. Maybe the default is a little bit too low in these particular cases. The according setting can be found on the ‘Input’ page of the menu.

A similar setting exists for VR controllers, so regardless whether you play with controllers or a gamepad, you can always adjust this to your liking.

BTW1: Each button on a VR controller can be mapped to two keys, with the left grip button acting as shift-Button between both mappings. That should suffice to map the vast majority of input schemes to VR controllers.

BTW2: vorpX has a nifty 4×4 gaze based button menu that is highly useful for all sorts of shortcuts. Can be configured in the menu. To use it with VR controllers you currently have to map ‘shift+mousewheel click’ to one of the VR controller buttons, which admittedly is a bit counterintuitive. Once that is done, the menu provides you with 16 gaze based extra ‚buttons‘ that can be used by pressing and holding the controller button you earlier mapped to ‘shift+mousewheel click’.

I just started with Vorpx (besides a few short tests in the past) with Metro: Last Light Redux, and I love it a lot!
I’m using the local Vorpx profile that was included in the latest version (Nov 2021).

But I have two issues and maybe these can be fixed?

    – First one is that I’m seeing vertical colored bars/stripes at the bottom of my viewing angle. It’s not a deal breaker, but it’s a little annoying so it would be great if there was a way to solve this.

    – Second one is giving me some trouble fully enjoying the experience for 100%. I play the game using my xbox controller (I never play with KB/M). Now, when I choose to use controllers as KB/M in the Vorpx menu, I can play and head tracking works great, including looking up and down using the joystick of the gamepad. But not all xbox controller keys are mapped, so there’s stuff I cannot do while playing. When I change the setting to use controllers as gamepad, all keys are mapped correctly and I can play the game perfectly, BUT, after this change, I cannot use the gamepad joystick to look up/down. This is annoying because after playing for a few minutes, the viewing angle can be up, or can be down. And re-centering doesn’t help. The only thing I can do is change from Full VR to another option (I think Immersive), then change the viewing angle with gamepad, then go back to Full VR. Very annoying, so I hope this can be fixed somehow?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I have everything working in many games, besides when vorpx cant attach the normal way (nor the alternative way) and I install the hook helper. Then the rendering works, but I cant get into the ingame menu. Actually none of the shortcuts work (eg ctrl+shift+alt, alt+l).

    Affected games:
    – Dakar 18
    – Battlefield V

Only those 2 required a hook helper and both fail to register keystrokes afterwards.

    Thanks

When I load a game in vorpx it screws up p
some of the buttons on my mouse. Some of the customizations are fine, but some of them just don’t work or they work weird. If I load the game without vorpx it’s fine. Anyone else have this issue?

Mainly it’s just the middle mouse button being rerouted to another button that doesn’t seem to work while in vorpx, but putting a macro on the mmb works, and keys on other buttons work as well. I can’t figure out why this one setting just won’t take. Could it be because vorpx is is using the mmb for another function? And if so how do I disable those things?

In first person view, the arrow keys on the keyboard make your character look with their head. Is it possible to map that to the head tracking?

The wapon is supposed to be shown when you press any weapon realated button, in particular in this case: the 1-6 and R keys and the left/right mouse buttons, also using the mouse wheel to change the weapon triggers shwonig it. Works perfectly fine here with the default profile settings.

Don’t know what else to suggest besides maybe a full factory reset.

The latest vorpX update, combined with a couple other tweaks, has me running Cyberpunk at 3840×2160, Ultra Ray-Tracing settings, at “Balanced DLSS” at 72hz/36fps. It’s not great for full VR mode (although; certainly fun to hop into that mode occasionally), but it does look extremely good in Virtual Cinema mode. Super-crisp with vorpX sharpening set all the way to max.

A few things I’ve discovered along the way:

    1) I believe vorpX originally set my screen mode to borderless windowed. When I went back to full screen mode my performance immediately increased by a fairly substantial amount. I’m glad I finally tried switching back to full-screen mode.

    2) The Cyberpunk depth-map may be very strange. I’ve found that by placing the depth-balance all they way out and then turning down the overall depth scale I still get tons of ‘near’ depth, but now with excellent ‘far’ depth as well and much reduced distortion overall. This exact same trick works for SuperDepth3D BTW, where I’ve found settings that work well to be wildly different than I’ve seen for any other title.

    3) I think we are down to only 2 issues that need fixing; the way specific Mods are now available for RDR2 and GTAV made me think it’s possible for Cyberpunk as well: A) We need to figure out what the UI overlay is for the help-keys, and then substitute the Controller UI elements for the Keyboard UI elements. That way when Cyberpunk flips between the controller and keyboard UI elements it will be flipping between ‘controller’ and ‘controller’ elements. It’s definitely a bit problematic to run this without being able to easily read what button you are supposed to use. B) Vehicle FOV changes make it essentially impossible to drive or ride in full VR mode, which is a real shame, as that’s the perfect place for full VR mode to work in this title. There is a Cyberengine Tweaks way to play with this, but like many things, getting that complicated mess to work with an already complicated mess could take countless hours. It would be great if vorpX had a way to fix this issue.

Is it impossible to enter keyboard keys when using virtual desktop?
It would be nice if keybord input was possible. It’s inconvenient to take off the hmd every time I type a letter.
How about making a virtual keyboard and making it clickable with the mouse?
It will be useful like that of steam or Windows 10.
