    Hey guys,

    Was just wondering if anyone knew any tricks to get MGS5 to do Side by Side 3d. Reshade wont hook with it so cant even get that to work. Any little tricks out there to get a Side by Side image for VR?

    Thanks for your time folks

    @Ralf, in the official profiles for Far Cry 3 (z3d) and Watch Dogs (z3d), the 3d depht option is set way too far, even on the lowest(nearest) value, which is 0.5. This makes medium and far distance objects extra small and weirdly looking, and there is no 3d in the middle to close distance from the character(in full vr and immersive screen too). I’m saying that because in the other far cry profiles(for example far cry 4 and 5) and watch dogs 2, this setting is perfectly fine and balanced. Maybe nobody cares about z3d in these games, but g3d runs extra stuttery on my pc. Pls Is there a way you can edit that option in these profiles to make so that the 3d depht can get closer ( like it does in the other profiles, also in all other game profiles I tried so far)? thanks

    Like said above you can change/save/restore/download user settings for official profiles at any time.

    The main reason why official profiles aren’t fully overridable is that game udates can occasionally break vorpX profiles. When that happens, official profiles get updated as soon as I become aware of the issue and with the next update you automatically have a fixed profile with your user settings still being intact. That would not be possible if you had completely overriden the official profile before, you’d be stuck with the now defunct override. Similarly: downloading an older override profile that no longer works right because a game patch broke 3D or other things in the meantime would break a game that worked before.

    Given how often games are updated these days, due to the above full profile overrides would create a fairly brutal mess, many older user setups in the cloud would be entirely worthless by now. Hence profiles are split into two parts: a base profile, mostly with the rather technical stuff like 3D settings etc. This part is overridable for user profiles, but not for official ones. On top of that a user settings part, which is independent from the base profile. This part can always be changed as you please and even stays intact when the underlying base profile gets replaced with an updated version.

    I understand that on first sight not having full control may look annoying to you, but this system wasn’t put place to annoy you at all, quite the opposite actually.

    Sadly, even in WINDOWED MODE (throwing me back to desktop in fullscreen), as i found out with WOLFENSTEIN II, the game keeps stuttering from time to time with also getting memory-related messages telling me that i would be low on it.

    While the game is stuttering (pretty shitty, but somehow bearable..with a strong and empty stomach) it gets unplayable when i move my head, coz then the whole complete screen/view is stuttering as well, but this doesn´t happen constantly all the time.

    It worked on bigscreen vr for about two weeks and now it all of the sudden keeps crashing along with throwing me back to the oculus vr-menu, which is probably related to the latest nvidia-update, so that godforsaken crap-app obviously can´t handle WII no more since this update.

    There are probably general workarounds for vulcan-related problems? Coz there are a few other games i´d like to try, as well being based on the vulcan-engine.

    Big Screen VR?

    Am i actually the only one having serious issues with certain games runnin on that godforsaken crap app?

    I am currently having problems with WOLFENSTEIN II beyond imagination, while i just thought i finally got rid of all kind of bugs, the fu**ing app again keeps crashing and throwing me back to the VR-Oculus Menu. Weird thing is this already happened a few times but then it went stright for a few days without any troubles, now it seems to be back and only god knows what is causing this.

    Big Screen once was a fine app, but problems with certain games are getting even worse with every update and games not working alright are as well increasing, with a few retro-pixel-graphic shooters stuttering, who wouldn´t even stutter on a friggin intel pentium II processor.

    I am gettin so damn frustrated with this crappy shit that i think am sadly gonna abandon this CRAP APP for once and for all, while being even more thankful to have vorpX, more than ever.

    yes, me too with the same exact profile aha, thanks for sharing tho !

    i have even added this to the engine.ini file

    [SystemSettings]
    r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=2
    r.ScreenPercentage=120
    r.PostProcessAAQuality=6
    r.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=0.2
    r.TemporalAASamples=2
    r.BlurGBuffer=-1
    r.AmbientOcclusionLevels=3
    r.AmbientOcclusionRadiusScale=1
    r.RenderTargetPoolMin=400
    r.LensFlareQuality=2
    r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0
    r.EyeAdaptationQuality=2
    r.BloomQuality=5
    r.FastBlurThreshold=7
    r.Upscale.Quality=3
    r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=1
    r.Streaming.PoolSize=4096
    r.StaticMeshLODDistanceScale=0.25
    r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=-2
    r.RefractionQuality=2
    r.SSR.Quality=4
    r.SceneColorFormat=4
    r.DetailMode=2
    r.TranslucencyVolumeBlur=1
    r.MaterialQualityLevel=1
    r.SceneColorFringe.Max=0
    r.ShadowQuality=5
    r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades=16
    r.Shadow.MaxResolution=4096
    r.ViewDistanceScale=10
    foliage.DensityScale=10
    grass.DensityScale=10
    foliage.LODDistanceScale=20
    r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0

    but it’s very taxing, it’s not smooth on my rtx 3090.
    you can tweak those settings to get better fps and if you dont want dynamic shadows just set r.shadowquality to 0 you will still have static shadows and better fps with no glitch.

    i had to tweak the profile btw to get rid of some decal glitch, did you do that as well ?

    first, you need to know what engine the game uses.
    second, you need to find a game in the profile list (or sometimes cloud profile list) which uses the same profile, for example unreal engine 4.
    third, you need to make a copy of that profile and then attach the exe of your game to that profile.

    next, try to start the game, maybe it will hook and maybe 3D will work (Z3D or/and g3D), but maybe it wont, if that’s the case, you can try another game profile using the same engine.

    sometimes for 3D to work, you need to launch the game in windowed mode or fullscreen mode, and sometimes you even have to turn off antialiasing or other things like dlss or other stuff.

    sometimes it just wont work and you’ll have to ask for a profile in the game wish list thread, sometimes it will, you wont know if you dont try.

    fun fact, i remember before shadow of the tomb raider got an official profile, i had it running in Z3D using conan exile profile which runs on a total different game engine, that’s the magic of vorpx for you, but most of the time games with different engines wont hook if you try, ie creating a profile using a unity engine game for a game running on an unreal engine 4 engine will probably not hook.

    also dont forget vorpx right now doesnt support vulkan, and dx12 is Z3D only atm.

    Hello elite 3D VR fans!

    Last night my jaw dropped when I read “Elite Dangerous: Odyssey”
    In real 3D geometric
    ripped off …

    They have integrated full 3D support … dh you can only play in 2D in VR … but if you switch to the side by side format in 3D you get real 3D !!! … wow … I was real flashed that it is so easy without a detour via “VorpX” …

    As with DCS, you can even adjust the stereo 3D depth to your taste …
    To do this, you have to set the experimental 3D mode slider approx. To the middle … then you get a very good 3D depth graduation …

    I immediately tested this with my 65 inch 3D capable TV … looks fantastic … !!
    Today I test with my 3D capable 4K projector and 3m screen …: cool:

    It is also possible to immerse yourself in VR … with Virtual Desktop … there you can then use F6 and F7 to admire the side-by-side format of “Odyssey” in real 3D VR …: rolleyes:: D

    runs super smooth with 1440p and Quest 2 …

    Little tip … bought it at CDKeys for 22.50 euros and activated it on Steam … they wanted 35 …: whistle:: D

    @Ralf: Hi there! If you see this, I’m wondering if you could add any input as to how we might be able to get Final Fantasy XIV to work? I’ve tried the suggestions in this thread to no avail. I can’t seem to get vorpX to hook to the game EXE at all. vorpX doesn’t actually seem to be trying to connect, for some reason. I’m not getting a prompt to install a hook helper, the game just launches to my computer screen and no vorpX message appears at all.

    As part of my troubleshooting, I actually found a way to launch the game EXE without using the separate launcher (by copying the authentication token from the launcher to a batch file and then running the batch file). I was hoping that maybe the handoff from the launcher to the main EXE was causing the problem with vorpX. However, even directly launching the game EXE, vorpX doesn’t seem to try to hook.

    I’ve tried the Cloud profile “Final Fantasy XIV (DX11) [zahncisten]”. I’ve also tried creating a new profile based on “NieR: Automata” based on others’ suggestions. Neither profile is getting a response from vorpX.

    As always, thanks for your amazing work! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Another option would be to try OpenXR instead of SteamVR. Unlike the Oculus mode that should work while still avoiding the SteamVR detour:

    1. Make Oculus your system’s OpenXR runtime by double clicking the .reg file in the linked zip archive: OculusOpenXR.zip. Oculus doesn’t enable OpenXR per default yet, but ist’s already working quite well from my experience. Caveat: The .reg file assumes that the Oculus software is installed in its default folder.
    2. Select OpenXR as your headset type in the vorpX config app on the ‘General’ page.
    3. Use Link/Air Link. DO NOT start SteamVR, it’s not required with OpenXR.

    Hey Ralf, just gave it a shot and wanted you to know – HUGE – performance boost. Im at an area in the game where you cross a foggy bridge and with SteamVR it brought my framerate down into the 10s-20s range, with this, it was 99% steady above 45 fps the whole way across. I went across this bridge multiple times in SteamVR and always got a major, major performance hit for it.

    Two problems though – Headtracking was not working at all for FullVR and ‘Edge Peek’ sent the screen ‘downwards’ like 10 feet, not expanding it in front of eyes like it typically does. SteamVR was not enabled, but ya, performance boost was truly insane for a CV1. Not sure if these problems with the headtracking and Edge Peek are solvable in the near future, but this looks like the solution to using SteamVR if those little issues get worked out.

    Thanks for sending that over, was nice to see my PC wasnt total garbage and that it was SteamVR messing with my performance lol.

    Please let me know if you are going to look into updating it, I may hold off the rest of my playthru until that is done, even if it isnt a priority for you now; the performance boost was so huge I really dont wanna play it on SteamVR now lol

    So, Skyrim, use the Vorpix configure screen to reset skyrim to default. Start a new game. I tend to use the mousewheel a lot to switch form first to third person view on. But it seems like every time I use the mousewheel to zoom in to first person the camera moves position.

    First, when I look down I see my feet (as I would expect) then after a while, when I zoom in the camera is in my head, and I am looking through the inside of my body to the grass under my feet. Then next time I zoom in the camera seems to treat my body as an object that the camera has to snap in front of, so then the camera snaps to directly under my feet when I look down. Then the fifth time that I zoom in, the camera might place itself like 4 feet in front of my head.

    I can usually use the in game menu to move the camera to a good position, but that number keeps creeping up. So say I had to move the camera to .80… then when the camera position changed I have to go to 1.20 to correct it. then the third time it happens I have to to 1.5 to correct it. After that it gets too far out of tolerance and it becomes pretty much impossible to correct.

    Some times I can see my head. Some times my head is gone. (not the the camera is clipping through it. I mean the head is totally gone even though the camera is in a position that it ought to be able to see it.) Other times my torso is enormous even though I didn’t mess with FOV.

    Anyway, just wondering how I can force the camera to stay put when I use the mousewheel to zoom in and out.

    Now I’m getting a memory error, it happened randomly when I was mid-game and now every time I open RDR2 with VorpX it crashes with this error as soon as I get to the main menu. I have 16 GB of RAM and 11g VRAM and was playing fine before at 90+ FPS. Sorry if I’m posting too much, from what I’ve been able to play so far I loved it and want to be able to keep playing! I even tried putting my resolution down to 800×600 and it still happened lol

    I bought vorpx today for RDR2 and got it working alright, but whenever I launch with vorpx the controls on my Xbox controller get scrambled. I read this was a normal problem and you can map keys in the settings menu, but when I click on a key to remap it in VorpX settings, it won’t let me bind a key to it and it just changes to “–“. Also when this happens I can’t click on anything in the menu including the close button, but they still glow when I hover the mouse over them. Anyone know a fix for this?

    Also when I’m in FullVR mode it acts like immersive view but the game stays centered in my view, the headtracking works but I have to zoom in very far in order to not see the ambience background, and even when I do if I look up or down I can see the borders for a second while it catches up. Thanks in advance if anyone knows a solution to these.

    I’m on windows 10 with a GTX 1080Ti and i7 4790k

    Just wondering why no one has ever tried to get Final Fantasy 7 PC to work? Is it possible to get it working in 3D? Any profiles work with it? Would look even better with all the HD mods available…

    Amazing news and with all the graphics tweaks, You are a wizard man. I’m guessing 16.9 res as well and no ASW 45FPS hack will be needed? I wonder are you gonna do 3 profiles or 1 that works on all 3 games? would be sweet to switch out of each game with the same profile but not the end of the world either way as long as they can be played in G3D with all graphics enhancements or even some turned down I’ll be a happy man. ME1 looks fantastic even with everything switched off, Couldn’t get 2 or 3 to work so I’m super excited for this, wow I forgot how dam good these games are. What would we do without Vorpx, just dream I guess :)
