    @luka2099,

    Thank you very much for the video. This is very timely, particularly since Steam is having a RE sale. What would one go to get the 1st person mod (e.g., I did not notice anything available on Nexus Mods)?

    I see there are already some mods on Nexus to increase/customize both weapon viewmodel fov and driving in vehicles fov. These were the 2 main issues preventing an ideal FullVR mode experience in FC4&5.

    If we can get some Z3D, this might be a good Far Cry to pick up. And no anti-cheat yet as far as I can tell.

    Additional hints if you want to use this https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/12056 maximum texture pack and run in crashes.

    This https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/21888/ Multicore fix seems to make the game more stable. I tested this with resolutions at 3840×2880 and it seems to work.
    I recommend changing your ini files manually in order to keep your FOV settings, just add the additional lines mentioned in the 4gB fix. Good luck.

    I am currently playing Fallout 3 with VorpX. Even after the awsome FO4 experience i must say this game (2008!!!) looks so incredibly nice with vorpx, especially with the Fellout mod which removes the greenish lighting in favor of crisp colours and a blue sky. These ini settings my be helpful on random crashes. These settings will also improve FPS and minimize studder. Dont go too high in resolution though which may result in crashes or freezes. I found a resolution of 3600×3700 (Gtx108ti) working well. Push the VorpX sharpness slider all the way up to 2 makes the image look very clear. In my eyes no need for texture mods etc.

    The Game (Game of the Year) with 5 add ons is currently 86% off Here

    Minor Update:

    I finally realized the github page where I got access to the RE2.zip file (the dinput8.dll file), also has the latest RE2 Framework files (e.g., the github link had a ‘build_vs2019.bat’, whereas the Nexus Mods/Mod DB link had a ‘install_vs2017.bat’).

    Unfortunately, deleting the Nexus Mod files and replacing them with the github files did NOT resolve the issue (e.g., the 1st person mod only works when voprX/Steam VR is off).

    At this stage, the only option left I can think of is to uninstall/reinstall everything and see if it works (I’ve done this twice so far, and it hasn’t helped yet, so I’ve got low confidence on it working this time).

    Nothing for you to be sorry about. I appreciate your kindness in responding to me.
    The latest version of frameworks is what I discovered on the NexusMod website (and seems to be the same file on the Mod DB website):
    RE2 Mod Framework master (includes first-person mod)-11-1-0-0-1549445984.zip
    This file had an upload date of Feb 2019.

    In case it helps anyone:
    – The RE2 dll file I am using is the latest file from github v1.06.3, which contains a RE2.zip file
    – The RE2 Mod Framework files are the one from the NexusMod website.

    There is now a First Person mod for the LE trilogy and I’m currently trying to setup the best settings for Full VR. Anyone else try yet?

    Thanks for the heads-up on that. I hope it works well. I had one for MEA that worked pretty well, but I never finished MEA as I did not enjoy the game itself much. Even having exploration mode being first person will be great for use in vorpX. (At least for me, even if not in full VR mode, I find that I can play first person games in Z3D without much issue, but it’s very difficult for me to play 3rd person games in Z3D due to the constant distortion around ‘me’ being so distracting.)

    you can tweaks ue4 game with engine ini of the game found under users/username/appdata/local/gamename/saved/config/windowsnoeditor

    for example for scarlet nexus

    just add this to the engine.ini

    [SystemSettings]
    r.ScreenPercentage=150
    foliage.LODDistanceScale=50
    r.ViewDistanceScale=30
    r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
    r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=-2
    r.fog=0
    r.StaticMeshLODDistanceScale=0.0000001
    r.SkeletalMeshLODRadiusScale=0.25
    r.LightFunctionQuality=3
    r.Streaming.MipBias=-3
    r.MipMapLodBias=-3
    r.PostProcessAAQuality=6
    r.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=0.125
    r.TemporalAASamples=32
    r.TonemapperFilm=1
    r.Tonemapper.Quality=5
    r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=0.85

    i went overboard with some of the settings like foliage.LODDistanceScale set to 50 i dont even know if it works that high, all i know is it looks really good and i have no poping at all and no fog.

    Dear Gamers,

    yesterday i found this MOD and i found it worth to post something about it here.

    My Setup:
    FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage Steam Version
    Valve Index – SteamVR
    VorpX
    Zolika1351’s FlatOut UC Trainer (MOD) – https://www.nexusmods.com/flatoutultimatecarnage/mods/2

    The MODs-Name is “Zolika1351’s FlatOut UC Trainer” which is basically a GTA 5 like trainer menu. i thought “Camera rotation with the mouse” would be a good feature for Headtracking in VorpX but as i used this mod i saw that the developer himself added VR Support for this task:
    Version 11.0
    Added .ini options for VR
    Fixed Custom Camera not disabling properly in the VR enabled version
    Made VR Offset consistent across all cars by driver position
    Version 10.0
    Added VR support with head tracking (for displaying the image, use either VorpX, or Reshade with the SuperDepth3D_VR shader and Virtual Desktop)

    (the needed DLLs for VR are in a seperated folder)

    with F7 you could open the mod and the last menupoint is VR. You could position the camera where you want (i prefere cockpit)

    Known Problems i found:
    1. Menu crashes the Game
    The Game is extremly instable if you use the menu. If you use it in the Game menu its better than in a race. Just Tweak your camera the way you wanted and put the Values in the mod ini. Than you can activate VR in the Game Menu and if you dont bring up the Modmenu ever again the game seems not to crash

    2. No geometric 3D witch VorpX
    I thought that VorpX could do real 3D but maybe the Camera-Mod kills that feature. I dont know but ive turned it of because the performance is horrible with it.

    3. Boost effect let you think you jump in hyperspace
    So if you use boost the camera effect is really not as funny as it sounds in vr. but if you change the ingame camera ( c ) there is a “position” without a driver. in this camera the boost effect isnt shown

    4. No HUD
    Didnt find a workaround for it yet

    5. Bad Graphics
    Well the game is from 2008. If you zoom in the textures dont look good at all. Maybe i find a way with Supersampling SteamVR or scale the game to 4k – or maybe there is a texture mod?

    Note: i dont made this mod, i only found it. I cant help you with errors. Thanks to Zolika1351, it was my dream to play this game in VR!

    @VorpX Developers:
    Maybe you could contact the developer and find out what he uses to set the camera. The Freelook might be added in the vorpX injection and than we would need that mod (and maybe the 3d comes back)

    Big concern with this is online, Ive heard they ban you without warking for hooking with cheat engine or any other app like vorpx into the game. Whats more game would “remember” if a character you have played offline used any apps that hooked to the game (i.e. potential cheats) and ban you if you go online with that character.

    Unless it only concerns DS3, maybe DS2 is different.

    oh ya, i apologize for not mentioning that – but even to install the mod you must delete all your previous characters (obviously just move them to a seperate folder while you play the mod) and do a clean install when you wanna go back to Dark Souls 2 regular. I should have mentioned that.

    That being said, there is also a new big mod for Dark souls 3 called Convergence that has kinda blown my mind, tons of new spells, including new classes like Necromancers and Druids that can summon zombies/animals to help. Major emphasis on magic, all new magic effects… and you can get that into first person vr as well. Heres links if anyones interested.

    Mod convergence:

    Mod with first person option, no need to tweak it like Dark souls 2’s first person mod:

    Hey folks,

    So a modder released on Nexusmods a pretty extensive reworking for Dark Souls 2. Enemy behavior and location changes, item changes, boss changes, combat speed closer to Dark Souls 3 – so decided I wanted to try it out.

    I got it working pretty well on Vorpx in first person FullVR mode and wanted to give a rundown to anyone who might be interested in trying Dark Souls 2 in first person VR.

    Each time you decide to play; it will take about 2 minutes to properly setup your game and then youre good to go.

    Below are the links for a First Person CheatEngine mod and with it a FOV Cheat Engine Mod.

    https://app.mediafire.com/1kmp5l03ah0t4

    I am sorry I do not know who these mod authors are, I have had these files sitting in my PC for years at this point and I tried to find the same ones but couldnt on Google and Nexus.

    I am using these in Scholar of the First Sin, not the original Dark Souls 2, so I am not sure if it will work with it.

    So, directions:

    1) Make a new character and get Binoculars in the game. They are literally within 2 minutes of the start of the game if you just run directly to them, the link below is from a Youtuber that shows where to get them at the primary hub in the game.

    So, get the binoculars and put them in one of your weapon slots, thats all we need as far as items in game.

    2)
    Always be loaded into the game world before using the CheatEngine mods, so always log into a character and then Alt+Tab out and time to set up the CheatEngine stuff.

    For the FOVDS2.CT mod, open it, click the little computer icon at the top left (Select a process to open) and make sure to choose DARK SOULS II. Then towards the bottom of the window, click the box next to “Change FOV”.

    The very next line is “FOV Value”, check this as well. In that row next to “FOV Value” you should see these numbers : 0.7679448724. Double click 0.7679448724 and when the box pops up, replace it with this: -29.23205376

    Thats all for that step, your FOV should look pretty nuts, but the next mod will take care of it.

    3) Open the FOVDS2.CT file and again, select a process to open in the upper right computer Icon and select DARK SOULS II. A pop up will appear, choose “Yes”. Click the box next to First Person First Person (Usage: Turn on script, zoom in with bow/binoc)

    4) Switch back to your game and, use the binoculars once and now you will be in VR, if you look down you can see your body, etc. Put bincolars back in your backup items and pull out your real weapons and start playing.

    I know this all seemed like a lot, but it literally takes 1 1/2 minutes to setup when youre logging in. The only real “upkeep” you have to do, is when you die or go through a load screen, equip the binoculars again for a moment to activate first person view. I recommend just keeping the binoculars in one of your 6 weapon slots and just hopping right to it, tapping it on, then switch back to your real weapons.

    -There is no need to ever leave gameplay to reset the mod, you just need to use the binoculars to ‘turn on’ the first person mod after loading screens-

    The game -is- more difficult, but definitely playable. For a bit more fun Id recommend getting a large sword so you can clearly see your hits, but you should be able to play most builds just fine; probably will die more since we are losing situational awareness, but, its fun to see this world in first person with Geo3d. Keep in mind you CAN adjust the HUD position in this game, so if you play FullVR like me, I recommend pulling health bars into view, etc.

    One last thing – if youre playing with an Xbox or Ps4 controller – go into Steam controller configurations and change your right control stick to “Joystick mouse” – for some reason the game turns extremely slowly with regular joystick with these mods. All other buttons can remain the same.

    On an aside, I have a few hours into that new mod on Nexus and am enjoying the changes to combat, if anyone wanted to try it, heres a link for that too.

    https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls2/mods/978

    You dont need to play this mod to play regular Dark Souls 2 in first person VR.

    If you have any questions, ill try to help out.. and again, sorry, dont know who made those cheattables, but they work.

    Take care of yourselves folks.

    After forgetting to upload nearly 2 years ago, I’ve finally added a profile to the cloud.

    The Saboteur (G3D)

    **may require vorpX run as administraitor**
    – for best FOV results use 4:3 res (1920×1440)
    – edit config.ini found here: C:\Users\NAME\Documents\My Games\The Saboteur™\SaveGames… edit 2 lines:

    ScreenWidth 1920
    ScreenHeight 1440

    *screen edges can be seen due to limmited game FOV
    *first person driving mod optional Nexusmods
    *tested on HP G1 with keyboard/mouse

    It’s not the perfect fullVR experience, but it’s still a neat way to see the game.

    I think I figured it out. Just posting in case somebody else has the same problem.

    I am using the mod: “immersive first person which controls the camera. I had to use the in-game vorpx config menu to prevent vorpx from altering the game’s video settings. The two programs seemed to be having an arms-race.

    Not totally solved yet though. My character is still enormous after the first time I change zones. But then if I change the settings after that first time, it doesn’t seem to change again.
