    Hello,

Since december 2022, I can’t run Vorpx on my main PC properly both in HP Reverb G2 as Oculus Rift S (specs below).

Games like oblivion, fallout 3, fallout vegas skyrim… textures look blurred inside headset (I don’t know how to express it, it’s like a posterized image with much less quality) and all the games have much less performance even at minimum resolutions/quality. (on the monitor textures show properly, I don’t understand that)

When trying to run games in z normal or z adaptative, headset shows only colored lines on the image (on the monitor it shows perfectly again). What could be happenning?. I have made a clean vorpx reinstall without success.

    Thank you in advance

    SPECS:
    VORPX 21.3.3
    Core i7 12700k
    32GB DDR3600
    RTX3090
    Windows 11 22H2 updated
HP REVERB G2 and Oculus RIFT S

Windows has been being updated during this time, also my RTX 3090 (it has been tested with drivers 517.48 to 531.68)

Same things! Installed Cyberpunk (Steam), installed Standalone Vorpx Mod, selected Steam VR in the settings, installed a new CET. Then I launch VR helmet (Pico 4), launch Virtual Desktop, launch Cyberpunk with exe in the bin folder, Steam VR launches, the game loads. Learning works. Controls work. But the game runs on a flat screen, although in the settings Vorpx inside the game is set to Full VR mode.

none of the profiles work. but I got it to run greatly in 3D with Vorpx viewer (turn off monitoring when you launching)

    My steps:
    – in Steam I unchecked the box : Enable the steam overlay while in game
    – downloaded https://framedsc.com/GameGuides/mgsv_phantom_pain.htm DXVK from this website
    – extracted in the directory , copied the set up_dxvk.sh file into same directory like theh exe as well as all 64 dll files.
    – tested without reshade, game starts

run reshade 4.9.1 , only that version works X95
    – selected mgsvtpp.exe in application
    – selected vulcan
    installed Superdept3dvr+fx

    https://reshade.me/downloads/ReShade_Setup_4.9.1.exe

There is also a hint that on start up another active document has to be open. Test it. I think it runs for me withoiut that part.
if not, open a word document and start the game and quickly change to the word document and type something inside so its an ACTIVE document open and game starts in background.

Hi! Any updates for patch 1.62? VR controllers don’t work inside the game when I see a flat screen with menus. Neither does the character editor.((

    Quick update:

I was wondering if the fact that my CPU (i7-9700KF) does not have Hyperthreading could be related to this performance issue, especially in CPU bound scenarios like the aforementioned racing games.
I do get a similar performance drop even in GPU-bound games but I was wondering if maybe vorpX had trouble dealing with hardware that does not physically support hyperthreading even though the CPU performance is quite good (8 cores @ 4.7 GHz).

@Ralf is there a way to assess this on my end? Cause I don’t see a vorpX process doing much if anything when hooked into a game, so I don’t know how to see how many resources it’s taking for rendering the game inside the headset.

yes I am aware of this reply but I *REALLY*! want to play with full haptics of the PS5 controller! that is my selling point here and its only available with the enhanced version :)
without the PS5 controller haptics its half the fun. I now about the graphics and I started play the normal version with vorpx which is great but with haptics would be amazing!

I renamed the exe and cyberpunk and horizon copy hooks but inside the game , no 3D.
maybe a small update , tip would could make it work in 3d?

To reiterate this topic it is possible to use both dlss 2 and frame generation at any resolution with vorpx’s latest beta version (version 23.1.0).
However one has to use the new desktop viewer with it instead of injecting into the game.
Furthermore some settings tweaking is needed for a smooth experience.

    Here are the steps needed:
    1. Launch Nvidia control panel and enable vsync globally
    2. Inside the control panel also set the frame rate limit to your headsets refresh rate (e.g 90hz)
    3. Launch vorpx desktop viewer
    4. Disable the vorpx injection watcher
    5. Start the game

A more detailed description can be found here: https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/vorpx-23-1-0-beta/page/9/#post-215678

As a side note using dlss 3 is more valuable than pitool’s frame interpolation or oculus aws because it produces clearer images and is solely calculated on the gpu instead of the cpu.
So in case you are running into a cpu bottleneck then dlss 3 is the way to go to achieve 90hz+ vr.

    Hey Ralf! Sounds awesome!

Is it possible that we can get a gesture where you can hold down a button while swinging arms to move around like the NaLo (natural locomotion) steam app does it?
    https://store.steampowered.com/app/798810/Natural_Locomotion/

I played a few games with this and it very natural, it gets rid of the need to use thumbsticks to move. I don’t see a way to use this inside vorpx yet.

Thank you for the continued support and fantastic features!

    Hello everyone,

I’m trying to use custom resolutions that exceed my monitor’s 1080p to be able to fully enjoy the 2448×2448 resolution of my HTC VIVE Pro 2. However, whenever I set a resolution that is higher than 1080p, like 2560×1440, the game starts stuttering massively and becomes absolutely unplayable OR nothing changes (definition doesn’t increase nor FPS decrease).

I have even struggled setting aspect ratios that are not officially supported by the game, even if below 1080p.

I tried applying the custom resolution to my PC’s main monitor before appliying it in game, but the results are the exact same.

The interesting fact is that without vorpX they actually work just fine, it’s only when I launch the game in my headset that I get the massive stuttering (only inside the headset) or no effect at all.

    Games I tested:
    – Forza Horizon 4 / 5: Massive stutters all the time (head tracking extremely laggy, which happens in 1080p as well to a lesser extent)
    – Rocket League: Massive stutters when lots of things are moving on the screen
    – Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands (same engine as Borderlands 3): nothing changes, can only change from 16:9 to 16:10 applying custom resolution to my monitor prior change in game

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,
    Heon_X

Having seemingly the same problem of not being able to use VorpX Desktop Viewer. It loads into Windows (showing a black preview thumbnail) and opens inside the headset, but only shows full black on the left eye (though it did show the animated loading icon at some point) and a static frame of what appears to be the cinema environment with a black screen.

Using a Razer Blade 14 with RTX 3070 on Windows 11, no external monitors and using a Quest 2 with Link.

Any idea how this problem can be resolved?

Pimax 8K-X. Absolutely hands-down the best HMD I’ve ever had on, WHEN you can make use of the FOV and clarity. With a 4090 I usually can, but there are still plenty of titles I have to run at Normal FOV rather than wide (I don’t use Small – which is should be noted is STILL larger than most other HMDs out there.) The performance issues manifest anytime a dev hasn’t realized than some HMDs (even the Index) have canted displays. Eventually this will in-theory become the norm, since the entire “you are wearing horse-blinders” effect of most HMDs greatly reduces immersion in what is supposed to be an immersive experience.
The PIMAX ecosystem is a PITA however, so you’ve got to take that into consideration. So when you can make use of it, it’s simply flabbergasting, and when you can’t it’s annoying AF. I run AC at insane resolutions (160% Steam SS) and Wide FOV with a ton of lighting and weather mods and it’s almost brutally good – incredible fidelity, zero SDE, extremely wide FOV (but, as noted, with somewhat distorted edges. Those don’t bother me at all, whereas “nothing at all being there except the black inside of an HMD” bothers me a lot on other HMDs – everyone is different). Every time I curse the Pimax foibles I spend a few hours in the that and realize it’s all worth it, as nothing else can really come close (maybe a Varjo? I don’t know, never tried one of those.)

I just saw a Paradise Decay video about God Of War in vorpX, and he explained that he disabled head tracking (=mouse) in vorpX settings to get the DualSense controller to work.

I expected that the screen will be locked to his vision, but he still could move his head in front of the Immersive Screen.

That tells me (contrary to my beliefs) that mouse-based headtracking is only used inside the game, but not for the looking around in front of the Immersive Screen (can’t word it better, sorry).

If this is true: where is this setting located in the in-game menu? I remember trying to disable mouse in the past for playing with gamepad, but that locked the screen to my head!

Last week I installed “VorpX” to enjoy VR in my “Oculus Rift” headset For convenience, I made the shortcut appear in the taskbar near the clock (notification center ) I started by reading your Guide for New Users, as well as many posts on your forum.
Being myself a programmer (but not game software), I know the importance of getting information before notifying anomalies.

Once this step was completed, I tested the software on 2 train simulators: “TS Classic” and “TSW3”
Congratulations by the way, for your work: the immersion in “Full VR mode” is very successful

But, keeping a VR headset on your head for more than 2 hours is quite painful
So I decided to quit VorpX cleanly and restart the game in normal mode.
(right click on the “vorpX Control” icon > Exit > Confirm with OK)

With TSW3, the game behaved normally. Unfortunately, with TS Classic, I encountered a small problem: In the cabin view, it was no longer possible for me to orient my view with the mouse! (by default, you perform a held right click to move your gaze inside the driver’s cabin)
In fact, the trackIR of your software had remained abnormally connected…

I explain the problem on the Steam forum concerning this simulator
(with temporary workaround to fix this issue) https://steamcommunity.com/app/24010/discussions/3/3192494154703441823/

I hope you may find the solution to this inconvenience? Good day

Unfortunately not all user made cloud profiles can guarantee working 3D, and sometimes game updates break these profiles. It’s also possible that the cloud profiles you tried were only tagged for the demo Prologue version exe, in which case you should check that your exact game exe name is listed inside that profile. If it’s not there you can add it.

When any unassigned exe is run, vorpX will try to hook into it with a default profile that offers no 3D reconstruction options, only a flat screen. It’s possible this is what happened to you.

It appears the game is on Unity engine, so you can also try cloning the Unity 5 base profile in your local list and add the Lust from Beyond exe to it. In my experience with many unity games, this profile almost always achieves G3D out of the box. You just might need to adjust your preferred screen type and size, and maybe adjust the 3D strength to your desired scale. Shadows will still be a bit strange sometimes, so you can try setting them to medium or low, or hide them entirely with the shader authoring tool if you want (ctrl + End).

I played Star Wars Battlefront II and it runs fine, but when I’m in a match the mouse cursor is visible at the center of the screen, inside the crosshair. Is there any way to hide it?
