I think I figured it out. Just posting in case somebody else has the same problem.
I am using the mod: “immersive first person which controls the camera. I had to use the in-game vorpx config menu to prevent vorpx from altering the game’s video settings. The two programs seemed to be having an arms-race.
Not totally solved yet though. My character is still enormous after the first time I change zones. But then if I change the settings after that first time, it doesn’t seem to change again.
I’m playing the trilogy for the first time, and Mass Effect 1 looks much better in the legendary edition. I bought EA play pro at 15€, an I’m satisfied !
You could mod the original ME2 and ME3 to have a look, that is more appropriate in 2021.
For a crisper image raise the ‘Resolution Scaling’ in the game’s graphics options.
Aspect ratio: Only with a 16:9 res the game will ever fully fill the view in the headset, at narrower aspect ratios it displays black bars itself. Also the FOV value for the mod will have to be slightly lower for 1440×900, probably something around 120.
Controllers: Either just move them out of sight or disable them in the vorpX menu. They will also disappear after a while when they go to sleep.
It seems to be possible now to get the Red Dead Redemption 2 profile working with this. Paradise Decay also added his Hitman 3 profile based on this into the cloud already.
The Halo games work beautifully in VorpX. Unfortunately the game’s HUD and crosshair design doesn’t translate well to VR. I found a way to remove it in the original Halo CE, but not in the later games. Has anyone found a way to remove the crosshair and Hud in any of other games, specifically Halo 3?
I just want to add a positive comment now that I’ve gone through about half the game in vorpx mode. After the recent updates to Vorpx and Cyberpunk, everything has been working like a dream. I rarely get any crashes any more and am getting a very solid 45/90 on my 2080 Super. (I do have to turn of DLSS. It was fine in the starting missions, but started to slow things down too much once they let you loose in more crowded areas.) Vorpx makes the game so much more immersive; Cyberpunk’s first-person perspective makes it feel like it was made for it.
FWIW, I found the readability of the UI in VR could be improved a bit by using one of the mods that changes the UI text/HUD color from red to yellow. (I’m not sure if links are frowned on here, but they’re at nexusmods.com if you want to try it.) And, FYI, adding –launcher-skip to launch options in Steam will skip the Project Red launcher.
Once you have the mod manager you will need the FOV Modifier Mod, the Unofficial Oblivion Patch and the Oblivion Script Extender. The FOV Modifier Mod will keep the Direct VR Scan from resetting, along with the script extender and the Unofficial Oblivion Patch will fix a bug in the Shivering Isles expansion where you lose the ability to sit down, among other glitches. Put the script extender in the main Oblivion Directory found in Steam/Games/Common/Oblivion and the FOV modifier and Unofficial Patch Mod in the data folder you drag out of the script extender mod.
Lastly, make sure all of these are checked off in the Oblivion Mod Manager then you can start the game and everything should be fine. Here are the Mods:
Patch 1.05 solved my crashes. I played some hours in FullVR and the Z3D is incredible, very close to G3D. The NPCs are living, it is not comparable to Assassins Creed in Z3D and Third Person. Wow, thank you very much to Ralf and the vorpx community !
For those who own a RTX 3000 or Big Navi
my recommendations in 40fps Gaming:
Graphic settings:
Res. 3200×2400
FOV 135
Medium and High Mixed
Raytracing on + Medium
DLSS Ultra Performance
I’ve arrived at similar settings but must have DLSS set to Quality which costs me 45fps and goes to about 42fps. Being able to set fluidsync to 40/80 would solve all my problems, didn’t know you could do that! How do you set it to 40/80?
