I have used it in the past but I have tried with several games that have profiles I see players using on Youtube and it just won’t attach. Dying Light 2,Metro Exodus, ect. Any Ideas? I can’t get the logo to appear on the screen. I have shut down everything I can think of including Windows defender, my antivirus, MSI afterburner, ect. I have run it in every sequence I can think of. Hours of trial and error. I have Win 11,RTX 3080,Ryzen 9 5900.16 ram and Quest 2. Using Air link, link cable and Virtual desktop. I have used Vorpx a few years ago and know how to use it. Just won`t work. I have tried all the tips in troubleshooting section both in and out of Vorpx site and Reddit and searching in browser. Configuring Vorpx in the settings in every combo I can think of. {Set for Steam VR,oculus, ect.} I can sometimes get the game to show up in the headset in Virtual theater mode, sometimes but sometimes just blackness. I have no trouble playing any other vr games including some using vr mods {RE7, Luke Ross, ect} Any thoughts would be much appreciated… thx

@GhostRider087 You wrote once you were using Vorpx Desktop Viewer to play a Reshade game (say Quantum Break) in 3D with Superdepth 3D. How did have get this work? Its easy with the Steam Virtual desktop and just press F7 to get the SBS but how did you get it to work with the Vorpx Viewer? Reason I am asking is that VD keeps crashing my games and I cant get pass booting section on many so I wanted to use the Vorpx Desktop viewer (with Ambience background on top its amazing), but when I start up the game, firstly there is no such thing like toggle to SBS in Vorpx viewer (is there??) and secondly Vorpx trying to attach itself to the exe and creates a clash with the installed Reshade and crashes..

Did you actually made it work or just in theory? in Praxis, I cant get it to work how you described it.

    My Initial Impressions:
Fantastic platform adventure that was built from the ground up to be played in 3D
    * 5/5
    * Perfect 3D to give you one of the TOP VorpX experiences available.
    * Immersive or Cinema Mode
    * Geometry 3D
    * Motion Controllers emulate a Gamepad perfectly.
*PLEASE NOTE: If you are using the controllers, there is a section in the game where you need to hit the Right D-Pad, to access this on the Motion Controllers, you hold down the Left Grip Button and you should see your controls change to show a D-PAD.

I’m pretty sure I had that set to the highest FSR upscale and the image slider all the way up and still getting the alising around all forms. I can’t rule out that a restart apply, didn’t contribute to the results I’m getting now, or the section of the game I’m in but I assure you that the image adjustment in the NV image sharpening made the biggest difference here without any noticeable hit in performance on my 1080ti 2700x machine. I’ll play more with it when I get home to be sure.

If you can’t find a user profile on the cloud profiles page of the vorpX config app, you can try to make your own by copying another UE4 profile and then assigning the game’s .exe to the copied profile.

For more detailed instructions check the ‘User Profiles’ section in the vorpX help. It also lists a bunch of UE4 profiles that you can try as a base profile.

Hi Ralf, I have tried these UE4 profiles (Conarium, The Turing Test, Get Even, Vampyr) but in none of them I have achieved any 3D effect, neither with G3D nor with Z3D. Is it possible that with this game the 3D mode cannot be activated?

On the other hand I have been testing the VorpX profile for the Arma 3 and it is very successful.
I like that you can play with the head separated from the weapon, but it would be even better if you put the option to assign the movement of the touch controller (pitch / yaw) to the weapon and it would be perfect. I have tried it with the auto_oculus_touch program and it works perfect but this program does not work from SteamVR.
In addition, this configuration would be useful for those who play FPS games in Immersive Screen mode and it is not convenient for them to use the head or the gamepad to move the weapon, and do not want to use the mouse.

It would also be perfect if you left free decision of assigning buttons and axes to the touch controllers, since for example I need to assign the movement keys (wasd) to the thumb pads of both touch at the same time, but you only allow me to assign it or to the right or to the left. Wouldn’t it be easier to leave free assignment of axes and buttons to any remote control and to adapt it to any configuration?

By the way congratulations on the development on the VorpX, very good job.
    Thanks a lot.

then, in this video, I show various settings with relative performances.
I also show my two problems. the first is that despite having reinstalled the mod, both with the oculus settin and with the openxr setting, I don’t have the headtracking. in the vorpx ingame menu in the headtraking section, it says headposition not available. the second problem is that the edge peek button doesn’t work. or rather it has no effect on the game screen. to get the real full vr screen, I have to switch from immersive screen to fullvr several times for the fullvr view to activate. I don’t have any other mod installed.

You can run games at higher resolutions for better image quality. If e.g. currently you run the game at 1920×1080, you might want to try to set 2560×1440 in the game’s video/graphics options, which should come close to the pixel density of your headset.

The higher the game resolution, the crisper the image. You have to find a balance between resolution and performance though. Higher resolution also means more work for your PC, so you may have to dial down details when you increase the resolution.

If your monitor does not support 2560×1440, please check the ‘Custom Resolutions’ section in the vorpX help. It explains step-by-step how to add unsupported resolutions to your PC.

I’m using oculus quest 2 and virtual desktop. I tried to launch the sekiro in steamvr, in the device section I chose OpenXR since it worked well playing Drak Souls III. I can’t use oculus runtime since my laptop has issues running Oculus home. Airlink or link all acn’t work with my laptop.
And I tried multiple methods and all attempts failed with crashed game. And after I uninstall hook helper it’s even worse with this on my screen: *** Unhandled Exception! See console output for more infos!ExpCode: 0xC0000005 ExpFlags: 0 ExpAddress:0x00007FFA8E50BB0A
Is there anyway to slove it?
    My laptop specification:
    ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA506IV
    R7 4800H with 2060
    36gb of ram
    Using Virtual Desktop for streaming
Tried OpenXR and Steamvr selection(Those worked well with Dark Souls III), also oculus runtime, none was working.
Oculus link is not available and can only been used when integrated card was diactivated.

Somehow I get the feeleing no matter what the actual limits are for any setting are, there is always someone who wants more just because apparently more is always better. :)

With English not being my first language and me being too fast at times along with not always using the best words coming to mind, i probably made myself unclear before.

Is that screen-size improvement with the last update also the final limit now or are there probably being more limits we could reach?

I reckon every improvement in terms of screen size could also cause more stuttering problems etc., this again probably being the actual reason for not having one general/overall screen size limit from start along with risking users turning up the screen scale “too big” and ending up storming the troubleshooting-section here.

On the other hand vorpX´s ingame-configuration options really don´t leave anything to be desired, so i was asking myself why there couldn´t be one absolute maximum screen-scale option, giving it that warning-message when a certain point is exceeded, just like other configuration-sliders have it as well, then you could have one overall screen size limit and no need to improve limits with updates as well as no users asking for such improvements.

Please keep in mind i am just asking how this would probably be workin, so if the current screen scale limit is the final one, then it is totally fine with me.

Regarding the current screen scale limit of being “large enough”: At the end it is in the viewer´s eye and all about adapting/getting used to things, especially the experience in terms of playing games or watching movies, that is why people buying bigger and bigger monitors/tv sets every year, not to forget that thankfuly this is also why VR-Sickness goes away pretty fast (despite some people still thinking it would stay forever)…

….so since i just found out i am actually not the only one with a theatre-screen-fetish rather than being too much into fullVR-experiences…

I find standard games (2D or 3D) on an impossibly huge theatre screen more enticing than VR itself. This is actually the main reason I ordered a Reverb G2.

Please consider adding more display options for us theatre aficionados. As the quality of HMD’s improves our numbers will only increase.

(quoted from an older thread from BEFORE last update with the improvements)

…there are probably even more users thinking about the same thing now or in the future.

Hey guys, I’ve spent a few hours tinkering with it myself this morning & have spoken to a couple of other users on Twitter, we’re all experiencing the same thing that “thenevik” has mentioned. I can get a whopping 8fps max; using Death Stranding or Cyberpunk profile, only Resi & Vorpx running, Steam VR as the headset option, RTX 2080, 32GB RAM & i7 9700K processor with vertical sync turned off. Tested with Rift S & Quest 2 via link / Air link.

Demo ran pretty well (a few drops to the low 50s in terms of fps in the open world Village section) but the game currently seems unplayable with Vorpx, definitely a real shame as it’s hooking but something is making it drag like a slideshow.

Okay- this is a shot in the dark, but I just resolved a similar problem where it was giving me a similar error message for another game recently. This is -not- a solution endorsed by Vorpx, I want to make that clear; but, it is a rather simple and typical thing to change in Windows and ‘revert’ if you desire.

It sounds like the mix of your applications is making you effectively not have enough RAM for what youre trying to do. There is a potential fix we can go over, as long as you have a bit of hard drive space available.

So there is this thing called Paging File Size. Its basically, to my understanding, a ‘weak’ form of RAM you can utilize Hard Drive space with to give you a little extra memory, which might get you through these error messages.

this is how to access it and change it in Windows 10:

1.Go to start bar and type this in
    advanced system settings

2.Select advanced system settings once it pops up.

    3. You should now be in a Window called “System Properties” and in the “Advanced” tab. There should be a section called “Performance”, click “settings” under the “Performance” section.

    4. Now youre in the window “Performance Options”; click the “Advanced” tab.

    5. Now in the “advanced” tab should be a section for “Virtual Memory”, click “change”.

    6. Now youre in a window called “Virtual Memory”. 99% of the time it is -fine- and correct to just let Windows keep these settings as they are, but, in some extreme cases, helping it out with some extra gigs of Hard Drive space may get a program running that is eating alot of resources (for instance, an advanced game like RDR2 + VR + Background tasks + Vorpx)

    7. Select the option “Custom Size” – and go ahead and go a little wild with it. If you have 20 gigs free, set it to “Initial Size” of “3000”; “Maximum Size” of “15000”.

    8. Make sure “custom size” is selected with your new numbers, (they dont have to match exactly what I put, but those numbers should let you find out whether or not this is your problem)… so Select “Set” after entering your values, then OK. Select Ok in all the windows you can and close out of them.

    9. You may have to restart your computer, this -will- take up Hard Drive space, so if you want that space back, just follow this guide and enter lower numbers or tell the System to take care of it, this isn’t harmful, just a way to give some extra ‘slow’ memory to your PC.

Hope this helps, but Ive used it to fix a few memory issues in the past. Good luck.

Heres a link with some pics if it helps.

… also if vr will not become mainstream in games, it will survive in the hardcore gamer scene and the business section.

Funny how i wasn´t caring anymore about VR a few months ago (being an oculus-rift-s owner since a year!) and now i am hoping so much for it to succeed in every way, even when i am probably still using it more or less for theater-screen gaming” lol.

I as well was having a few “scenarios” in my head, on how VR will probably do in the future, with vorpX probably playing a major role in it!

I recently talked to a friend of mine who is into VR and i asked him if he ever tried to make use of those virtual-desktop/theater-screens and he said no. That reminded myself of how i was seeing it, i actually thought that those theater screen are crap and the only reason for me trying it was actually that i wanted to have this one last experience before i am giving away my goggles, actually saving VR for me, as i said on multiple occiasions here. Anyway, my point is that people should be more aware of how great it is to make use of virtual-desktops/theater-screens because obviously people seem to focus too much on this exclusive VR-stuff, which is in my opinion by far not THAT great as the things being possible with vorpX and the chance to play far better games than most of those exclusive vr-games could be.

… also if vr will not become mainstream in games, it will survive in the hardcore gamer scene and the business section. Have a look at the linux scene. In the business server and also many other industries its mainstream, and in the linux desktop and mobile scene, there are hardware projects although it isn’t much profitable. This is my worst scenario, but vr will though not die. But with the exception, if we will have auto-stereoscopic TVs and Gaming Rooms in a quality of hologram’s in Star Trek !

But we will have the PSVR2 ! In my opinion it will be the revolution for the masses because Sony will release a headset in a quality of the valve index for low budget console gamers, and will sell millions in the next years. The PSVR1 sold 3 Million units. Sony makes VR for the masses and not for the classes, like the PlayStation itself. We will get a PS5 and PSVR2 Bundle at 1000$, with a quality of a PCVR System at 2500$.

Oculus has tried the same with the Quest 2, but they aren’t selling a High-End Gaming PC at 500$ and Mobile VR will not replace the Flatgames in the future, and if you want PCVR with the Quest 2 you need a 1500$ – 2000$ PC and a Quest 2 at 450$, and this is to much expansive for the masses.

The 100-200$ HMDs are perfect for XXX movies. Have you ever seen a 3D 180 degree xxx movie ? I don’t know why this is not popular !?

Vorpx is a one way ticket, never ever Flatgames on TV !!!
I hope if VR will replace the Flatgames and become mainstream, every game has the option to play it with a gamepad or keyboard and Mouse, i hate the motion controller and aerobic in my living room.

I think you charred a few of those bridges to the very people who were trying.
But yeah generally there are some pretty great folks on here.

I wasn´t all serious with my remark regarding the troubleshooting section as well i wasn´t serious with my little flame-war from before, it´s just my way with words and i am aware of it probably being pretty offensive for certain people, on the other hand i am also aware that everyone behaves a little or much different once he is jacked in to the net, most people just don´t realize it.

I am not the kind of guy who cries for help on every occasion, except i am in a hurry or plain simple too lazy for finding out things myself (i once asked here because there was a game obviously making trouble on evey virtual desktop software i have and wasn´t sure the game to be the problem or my system), but i prefer doing it on my own because then i tend to learn things better than just reading a tutorial and forgetting what i just did right after i made things work while following it step by step.

At least i got myself enough infos on vorpX before buying it, rather than being one of those dorks (sorry) who rant about it not working properly when it ain´t vorpX fault but people either not being smart enough and/or doing it wrong somehow with just blaming the software on most occasions which all ends up in those negative reviews making vorpX look bad in an unfair kind of way….by the way i am always trying to preferrably read the negative reviews only, to find out about possible flaws and/or stupid people talking crap…like it happens on STEAM with way too many good games being rated down in unfair ways just like it happens occiasonly with vorpX.

(Including Ogrescar who you may remember)

    Ogrewho????? LOL jk
